"I'm a little broken"

I’m sick and I am frankly tired of tumblr sexymen. No more interesting designs. No more controversial cosmic horrors. I want just some guy.

I would say not with romantic intent, but it parallels with Nick’s relationship with Winston in that episode. Nick was upset that Winston was no longer available to share the same emotional experience of heartbreak and loneliness with him. Jess had just come back from breaking up with Russell and obviously Nick was the first person she wanted to turn to about that, especially since he was the one that told her to go after Russell in the first place. She thought she and Nick were on the same side, only to find that Nick had backslid with Caroline and that had to burn. It must have felt like a betrayal of their friendship. Also, I think if Caroline hadn’t been a factor, I think it would definitely have pushed the timeline forward a lot more quickly for Nick and Jess getting together because it would have developed their emotional intimacy even more quickly.
