Pretty niche project of mine. I've been watching Smosh as a comfort channel and their playthrough of Betrayal: Legacy is one of my favourites. It's a board game that tells a story across multiple sessions that are set about 20-30 years apart each time so the players play as many generations of the same family through time, starting in 1666. The players make it very funny with a lot of improv, and various attempts at dressing like the era with the limited costumes they have available. I don't expect them to be accurate at all of course but I thought it would be fun to draw the characters in historically accurate versions of their costumes :) ...Fun for me at least so here goes.

Strong seed. Douglas is just Mr Peanut though right? If only Amadeus lived in the 1660s, omg the ruffles! He would have loved it. Douglas is a bit more toned down, for this era. This is the only one I primarily used a modern image as the reference. I think it's pretty good but I decided not to do that again. While I think Damien might have been the only one to know when this session was set, after that I think Chanse did the best job of trying to wear things kinda inspired by the era or close-ish to it. Fun fact skirts for men made a brief comeback in this era.

Her family owns planes plains! Belinda's disdain for the Irish is very the era though, although it's many era's. Look at these vampiric dresses.

He's the sanest one here. I realise now I made him look paler than I probably should've but Damien would probably appreciate it. The colour does look a bit like an anime-fied version of the reference a bit but it looked cool so I kept it.

I'm not sure if Shayne had a catchphrase this episode. Reference. I took the.. I wanna call it a doublet? off so Cornelius looked more ready to fight or pretend he's ready to fight.

Gaelic Gaelic. This one I think ended up looking too much like a roundhead for an Irishman. Who'd be very much opposed. The yellow kinda does that but maybe I should have made his hair longer. Even though his family owned the ports or something, Rory gave peasant vibes (am I allowed to stereotype due to my own Irish background?) which was harder to find reference for. I would love to be able to find more history of Irish fashion specifically, but it is hard due to colonisation.

I don’t know if I have EVER posted twice in one week before, but hey, there’s a first time for everything. The last time I updated this story was almost A YEAR ago. But it’s back, in my opinion it might be better than ever, and either way it was a joy to play on this sandbox again. Thank you to the incredible group of people that kept me writing this. It wouldn’t have happened without you.
