Walk down a metro station in Brussels and get on line 5 with me. Elevators, check-points, buskers and mechanical sounds of the metro system running.

Making my way through the preparations of the Christmas market. This fairly recently developed car-free zone in the centre of the historical city gives space to stroll and enjoy the city. Lots of restaurants, cafés, shops. Including conversations in French, Dutch, English and other languages.

Recording of a walk through Rue Dansaert on a autumn day in Brussels. Sounds of construction, busses and heavy traffic flow in dense neighbourhood. Even the very limited amount of cars results in a tremendously loud environment, almost overwhelming every other sound.

Busy Boulevard Anspach in the early summer. The city sounds different after opening space for human scale interaction. Various languages can be heard, some scooters and random city noises.
