It sucks, really! Yes. At that time, people (especially those had bought the ticket or who were familiar with the matter) called the Titanic «Ship of Dreams». There were other ships, like RMS Mauretania or Olympic - sistership of the Titanic - who were very powerful and who could impress the passengers. If you see this site, for example, (www.titanicandco.com), you will find the same expression: Ship of Dreams. Titanic was the largest floating object at the time (also the most luxurious and complex). So, it's true. The ship also represented hope for the immigrant people. These people wanted to return home and achieve their dreams. It makes sense that the Titanic, the most luxurious object ever built, looked straight out of a fairy tale.
