Man, the whole "Joko turned us into Awakened" Sylvari was such a throw away. No where else were there Joko Awakened Sylvari, and those specific Sylvari don't ever show up anywhere else (unless I missed it somewhere correct me if that's the case).
And honestly, the Awakened look would've been really cool as a cosmetic Infusion.
I'm not at a point where ppl know my OCs all that well, but I still wanna put it out there that I do not approve the shipping of the podtwins Aurenthir and Ceara/Scarlet Briar.
For one, they view each other as siblings and don't have romantic/sexual feelings for one another. Two, Aurenthir is an asexual gay salad who's into other gay salads. And three, I am a Scarlet Briar x Mai Trin shipper.

Azolla panted hard as she gripped her hammer. The Courtier before her seemed unstoppable, taking only a moment to break from their clashing. The Courtier rushed her and she raised her hammer, two swords hitting the shaft. She twisted the hammer, throwing the Courtier's balance and quickly swung it around sideways, making contact.
The Courtier slide across the dirt, hitting a large boulder and going limp. Azolla straightened herself, catching her breath. This Courtier was certainly formidable, she had to admit. Had this gone any longer, she would've needed to retreat.
She approached the unconscious Courtier, and as the dust cleared she could see the bark-like helmet had receded. Her eyes fell on the Courtier's face and she let out a gasp.
"Kehydin…" she shook her head, raising a hand to her mouth.
An emotion he was unfamiliar with began to creep upon him as he read the letter. It gripped him in the gut first, slowly making its way up to his chest. It tightened his throat and made it difficult to breathe.
The letter fell out of his hand and he leaned against the wall, sliding down as a dull ache throbbed in his chest. His vision blurred as tears welled up in response to his sudden sorrow. He had known sadness, but this? This type of sadness cut deep into him. It slowly choked him as his mind registered what he had read.
'…we regret to inform you that Magister Luura and her team are lost in Orr. Their bodies could not be recovered nor found. We will hold a service for those missing in Orr at--’
He pulled off his glasses and covered his face in both hands. His tears spilled into his palms. His shoulders slumped, grief weighing painfully upon him, and he sobbed silently in the darkness of his room…
Magister Luura was good friends with Professor Gorr. Well they were perhaps more than just good friends. And if things had gone a bit differently, Prof. Gorr would've been Zyffre's dad instead of Councillor Ardjin.
Gorr did take Zyffre under his tutelage when Zyffre arrived at Rata Sum to study in the College of Synergetics (at the request of Magister Luura). Prof. Gorr treated Zyffre more like a son than Ardjin ever did.

Been tossing up the idea of having Gavin live during the Sylvari Personal Story of the White Stag. Had ideas of Roaj sparing Gavin and dragging him along into the Vigil and forming the Pact. And Roaj named the White Stag after him too, so Roaj introduces the White Stag like "This is Gavin, named after my best buddy, Gavin!"
On the other hand, I could give Roaj "baby's first trauma" by having Gavin befriend Roaj and then the betrayal happens and Roaj's gotta kill their new friend over an albino deer.
Introducing Warden Azolla, a Captain of the Grove Wardens, and Firstborn Niamh's protégé.
She's the one who deals with Bercilak while Wardens Aevynna and Gaelan protect Astorea from Nightmare-turned Tiachren and Ysvelta. Roaj's was the White Stag route and had to take care of Gavin.
Azolla is very new (I will fashion her up properly once she hits lv80), and I've already got plans for her to join the Whispers along with Professor Qiia and Rensai. She might become one of the Pact Commanders alongside Professor Qiia.
@heyitsmejona coming at me with the good stuff in the tags again! Thank you so much! Also this took me a bit longer cus there were questions on here that really got me thinking lol.

Before I get into the meat and potatoes, lemme add some context and explain some things.
I have two versions of Aurenthir, and I'll talk about how his relationship with his twin differs, how he lived his life, and where he ends up. This is going to be very text-heavy, so I'll put it under the cut.
There are some spoilers for LWS1-2 and HoT
---
So, main timeline Aurenthir and alternate timeline Aurenthir start off relatively the same way. Both versions of Aurenthir came out of the pod Dreamless, and both versions lamented the fact that he wasn't connected to his own Sylvari kin via the Dream. Both versions go through pretty much the same early life, up until one key event:
Mainline Aurenthir got captured and experimented on by the Asura, while alt-line Aurenthir didn't.
This very event is what changed the path to Aurenthir's life later on.
Now, his relationship with his podtwin, Ceara in both versions is close-knit. However, mainline Aurenthir does split from Ceara when they traveled together, while alt-line follows her to Rata Sum. Mainline Aurenthir kept in touch with his sister via writing letters and meeting up to catch up. Alt-line Aurenthir was "ride or die" with his sister.
Personality-wise, mainline Aurenthir was reserved and calm, and quite frankly humbled due to his past trauma. Alt-line Aurenthir was far more outgoing, easily bored, and a prankster. Both are highly intelligent and observant, however alt-line Aurenthir was quick and decisive in his actions, while mainline was more hesitant and careful.
Alright, got as much as I could establish here, lemme get to the questions. These will be answered for the Aurenthir that did go to Rata Sum with Ceara, so alternate timeline.

in terms of team dynamic who is calling the shots?
When the two are together, Scarlet's usually the one calling the shots. Otherwise, Aurenthir will take up a commanding role in her absence and only when he has to.
Scarlet was the smooth talker and negotiator, while Aurenthir took advantage of any new tech he can get his hands on, and/or supplied it to Scarlet's Alliances. He basically handled the logistics behind the scenes.
i know ceara (scarlet) has a plan but does aurenthir gets to do his own thing from time to time or is it more like a i support you whenever
He supported her through and through. Altho at some point he considered joining up with the Aetherblades once everything was in motion and done with. That didn't happen of course, since in the end he wound up in the heart of the jungle as the Blighted Warden of Thorn Hollow, his sister was killed, and the Aetherblades disappeared into the Mists.
im guessing ceara is the brain but aurenthir has surely some important qualities as well
Aurenthir was a quick learner and picked up on new tech with little to no trouble. He helped build the steam creature prototypes with Ceara as well as mod up and maintain their weapons.
When Ceara became Scarlet, he assisted her in forming her Alliances, and he'd gain access to the devices Scarlet needed to probe for the ley line pathways. His presence actually kept her mind sound, but she slowly went mad (Mordremoth's Call slowly consuming her) whenever he was away. His ability to silence the Dream as well as the Jungle Dragon's Call was still present in this timeline.
do you mayhaps also have a fix it au or just like a happy au?
Aurenthir either gets killed at the end of HoT, or escapes (the au) and lives onward. It's a lil complicated cus I'm leaning more onto the au than the original version of him dying lol.
In the au he gets to live and eventually ends up in Cantha years later. He befriends Yao and the Brotherhood there and would end up helping the others with the fight against the Dragon Void.
in your world- what fears do they have? can or are they comforting each other? how does that look like?
Aurenthir had always had a fear of being alone. He used to show it a lot more when he was a Sapling, and then got better at hiding it. But he doesn't like the idea of being alone, or even the thought of losing his sister. All that would be irrelevant once he heeded Mordremoth's Call and became the dragon's loyal minion.
Ceara didn't really have much fears, until she became Scarlet Briar and was beginning to slowly lose her mind midway through her plans.
The way they would comfort each other was just being by each other's side. Aurenthir's presence kept Scarlet's mind sound, and Scarlet's presence kept Aurenthir's anxieties at bay.
who would you say is more outgoing? like looking for people making friends
Definitely Aurenthir. His sister can convince and rally others, but Aurenthir is easier to talk to. He's more present than his sister, and he genuinely enjoys the company of the Aetherblades the most.
does ceara keep any secrets from aurenthir? and the other way around?
She does, but it isn't like he's nosy and wants to know everything that goes on in her head. She'll tell him what he needs to know and he's fine with that. Him on the other hand, he's open with her and doesn't really keep secrets to himself.
are there any things the other doesn't like about their podtwin
Ceara really disliked how Aurenthir tried to befriend every Sylvari they came across in their Sapling days. She disliked how desperate he seemed to want that connection.
And for Aurenthir, it was the opposite. He disliked how his sister could just not care about their situation. He didn't understand how she could simply and easily accept being cut off from the Dream.
There was a time when the two weren't very close yet due to this difference. Aurenthir would have separated from Ceara had Firstborn Wynne not been murdered and things would've been very different for the both of them.
they do have some love for each other im guessing- how do they show it?
Their bond was strong and they showed their affection for one another through sharing knowledge and being playful. They also get silly around each other, pulling small pranks and whatnot. Even after Ceara became Scarlet, they were still pretty close-knit.
was there any moment in the story where they had a huge disagreement? or a moment where the saw each other like clearly
Early in their Sapling days, they'd get into arguments quite often, cus Aurenthir always expressed his woes about not being connected to their own people via the Dream. Ceara had always been more independent and driven, and would tell Aurenthir they didn't need anyone else, that they don't need to rely on the Dream.
Aurenthir would eventually stop bemoaning about it after his fling and falling out with Cadeyrn.
in the story cesra also goes to rata sum to study? is it in your world the same? what was aurenthir doing if so?
Aurenthir went to Rata Sum with Ceara and studied in all three Colleges with her. He was having a good time learning from the Asura, taking the opportunity to partake in experiments involving their technology.
Ceara would join the Inquest for her own studies and Aurenthir remained in Rata Sum. It'd be the time when Ceara got caught tampering with archives, that Aurenthir would also be expelled from further study within the Colleges.
was scarlet also always scarlet or did aurenthir get to witness the change? what did he think about it?
Aurenthir witnessed the change. He was uneasy watching his sister in Omadd's isolation module and was even more concerned when she looked like she was going through something agonizing.
When she came to, she was Scarlet, and Aurenthir watched her kill Omadd. That event shocked him cus Omadd was both their instructor when they were in Rata Sum. Scarlet would then tell him the truth about their people, and then her plans to reject the purpose of what they were "born to be."

If you could multiclass in gw2 like in gw1, what would your main multiclass in?
Reblogs with comments highly encouraged! Putting your thoughts outside of the tags means we can all engage with each other, and find other thoughts we find provoking!
Oh heck yeah, I do have a few OCs that have "duel-professions" that I can yap about!
My Pact Commander Roaj is Soulbeast main and secondary Guardian. Roaj's Soulbeast abilities work in a way that they channel animal spirits to merge with after bonding with them, and Roaj takes up attributes and traits from said animal companions. The Guardian portion of their abilities are a mix of Virtues (Core Guardian) and Stances (Luminary).
Aurenthir is Druid main and Thief secondary. Actually Aurenthir is a lil complicated cus I have two versions of him, and main version of him is mostly Druid with a splash of Thief. But his alternate timeline version is Ranger-Daredevil, the Daredevil portion being very predominate with some sprinkling of Core Ranger. Alternate Aurenthir gets to have his Fern Hound and Reef Drake as a Daredevil lol
Ardjin is Virtuoso main and secondary Elementalist. His abilities does draw mostly on the Water attunement of his Ele side to aid with his Mesmer abilities.
Zyffre is Tempest main and barely any Mesmer. His barely-a-Mesmer abilities doesn't really do much in offense nor defense, but it does amplify his Ele abilities, especially his Air attunement.
Rensai, Jhosung, and Hendrick (aka Saladbowld) are all flavors of Necro secondary. Rensai's a Specter main with some Core Necro, Jhosung's a Mirage main with Harbinger secondary, and Hendrick is Ranger main with Reaper secondary. They're all of the same bloodline and their ancestor was one of the Seven Reapers.

Here are a couple work-in-progress snippets from the lws2 story involving my oc Quilkka and Taimi! A bit o' context:
In Scarlet's Secret Room in the town of Prosperity, Taimi has stayed behind to uncover what she can about the nature of the villain's schemes, accompanied by a high-ranking Order of Whispers assassin for protection: Quilkka, a member of the commander's guild that took down Zhaitan and put an end to Scarlet's reign. She is also - Taimi's estranged aunt. Taimi is quite close to her family, a wealthy, well-known, and accomplished bloodline; however, Quilkka - banished from Rata Sum prior to Taimi's birth - wouldn't cross paths with her until the guild's battle against the Twisted Marionette. Since then, while Quilkka's proven to be adept at getting Taimi out of a jam, they've spoken very little. Until now.
***
"You didn't go to any of the colleges - where did you learn from?" Taimi asked.
"What does it matter?" Quilkka shrugged, inspecting the room's safeguards.
"Because it does!" Taimi insisted. "And...well, there's just so much about you I don't know. We're from the same family but...I never got to learn anything from you."
"Eh, you're not missing out - " Quilkka paused. She looked up from the boarded-up windows, ears twitching.
Taimi got up from her chair. "What is it?"
"...A breeze."
"Oh, yeah, it gets pretty drafty in here. Not exactly the most well-kept place."
"No. This is coming from inside."
Quilkka took off her glove and licked her finger, then held it out. She felt the coolness again, and with her wet finger, was now able to pinpoint the direction. "This way." She pulled her glove back on and went toward the origin of the strange breeze, a simple bookcase at the back. "Here. Feel that?"
Taimi joined her, most curious. She put her hand where Quilkka showed her. Sure enough, she felt a very very faint, sporadic breeze. So vaguely perceptible she was sure she wouldn't have noticed if Quilkka hadn't pointed it out.
"There's an opening behind this bookcase." Quilkka said.
"No way!" Taimi breathily exclaimed.
Quilkka put an arm out. "Stand back."
They took a few steps back together. Once they were a safe distance away, Quilkka whipped out a clawed wire and snagged the top of the bookcase before yanking down, tipping it forward. Taimi ducked behind her and Quilkka shielded her eyes as the bookcase crashed to the floor. Once the dust cleared, they both looked up to find, indeed, an opening revealed. Quilkka hopped up on the back of the toppled bookcase and peered inside the hole, though it was too dark to make much out. She narrowed her eyes and donned her shroud. Taimi excitedly peeked in beside her, but Quilkka shot an arm out to hold her back.
"Wait here." She warned. She grabbed an old energy rod from Scarlet's equipment pile, smacking it so it lit up, then clipped it to her hip as she cautiously entered the hole. Taimi, pouty and desperate to unravel more mysteries, started to step down after her.
"Hey, just because we're related doesn't mean you get to boss me around!"
"No, I get to boss you around because I've killed a dragon. And - " Quilkka suddenly scooped Taimi up and plopped her back down, away from where she was about to step. " - because I notice when someone's walking into a trap."
Taimi scowled at her before looking down and seeing what Quilkka had seen. Threaded wire stretched over a hole in the floor. She sniffed and turned her head.
"What was Scarlet doing putting traps down here anyway?" She grumbled.
Quilkka inspected the trap more closely and found the filmy wire wasn't wire at all. It was silk. A grim realization dawned on her.
"These aren't Scarlet's."
Quilkka whirled around to see a giant canyon spider creeping down on a thread toward the unsuspecting progeny.
"TAIMI!"
At Quilkka's shout, Taimi looked up to suddenly face the spider's eager eyes. She let out a fearful yelp as it launched down at her, but before it could take her, Quilkka grabbed her in a tackle. They tucked and rolled, just out of reach. Quilkka immediately popped back up and rushed the hostile creature, blocking its fangs head-on with her daggers. The block knocked her down onto her back and her energy rod rolled away. It was all her strength to keep the hungry arachnid's maw at bay. Quilkka's technique relied on misdirection and evasion. When it came to brute strength, she was at a disadvantage...but with Taimi right behind her, she had no choice.
"Get to Scruffy!" Quilkka called, straining.
Taimi scrambled to her feet as fast as she could. The moment Taimi was back through the room opening, Quilkka let go and slid down, making the spider stab its fangs into the dirt above her. Now directly under its thorax, Quilkka thrust her daggers. It reared back in pain, allowing Quilkka to kick it off her. She jumped back, drawing her dual pistols, and noticed the energy rod rolling against the pitch darkness of the basement. She shot it, and the consequential explosion of light revealed an entire nest approaching its prey.
"...Should've guessed." Quilkka groaned.
*** Post-spidey fight
Once the nest was cleared, Quilkka turned to Taimi.
"You good?"
"Me?! You're the one who got jumped!"
"I'm fine - "
Suddenly, a felled spider behind Quilkka twitched to life and in a flash, it fiercely bit into her arm. Taimi gasped and Quilkka wasted no time in stabbing its head before Scruffy shot the thing off her.
Quilkka held her punctured arm, venom oozing out of the wound. "Okay, I take that back - " she managed through gritted teeth. She stumbled, the venom working fast through her short body.
"Oh no no no no what do we do, what do WE DO?!" Taimi panicked.
"Stay in your golem, I'll handle this." Quilkka said, hobbling back through the hole to Scarlet's room. Taimi followed close in Scruffy.
"But the venom! You'll die!!"
"I'm not gonna die, relax." But her nonchalance couldn't hide a clear weakness.
Quilkka reached her pack against the wall and rummaged through it. She set out a leather tool roll filled with vials and a syringe. "This is why we have - " she plucked one vial out and fit it into the syringe, " - antivenoms." She stabbed her poisoned arm with it and relaxed, taking steady breaths.
"Oh, g-good!" Taimi breathed with a tight smile, still coming down from a nasty adrenaline rush. "And now, we're out!"
"We've got plenty to make more." Quilkka said, taking her coat off and digging through her pack again. "Thanks to Mr. Sneak-attack and his buddies." Quilkka pulled out the med kit she was looking for and started to clean her wounds.
"That was still way too close. I've read that canyon spider venom can kill prey in one minute flat!"
"Forty-three seconds. I've counted."
Taimi stared at her as Quilkka one-handedly pulled on a tight, temporary bandage. She saved her. Again. Taimi thought. And she was bitten because she was distracted, checking up on...
Taimi sat Scruffy down and stepped out of the golem.
"...Can I help?"
Quilkka glanced up and realized Taimi was looking at her earnestly, worried. Worried. She paused. Taimi's kernel of guilt was difficult to hide.
Quilkka held the bandages out. "Sure. I need you to wrap it for me."
Taimi gingerly took the bandages. "Wrap it? Uh, I-I don't really know much about treating wounds that need more than a med patch."
"Then start knowing." Quilkka chuckled. "You said you wanted to help, didn't you?"
"I was kinda thinking in terms of supplies, not...?" Taimi swallowed and shook off that hesitation. She recomposed herself with a deep breath. "Oookay. I can do this."
Quilkka couldn't help but smile at her little self-affirmations. When Taimi was ready, she sat down next to Quilkka for the explanation. "There needs to be constant pressure to stop the bleeding, so make sure you wrap it tight. Like this." She reached over and wrapped a small part of the bandage on Taimi's wrist. Nice and tight. Taimi nodded fervently, hyper-focused. Quilkka nodded back at her and removed the temporary wraps she'd put on to slow the loss of blood. She revealed the two deep, red puncture wounds. Involuntarily, Taimi made a sharp inhale at the sight close up.
"Looks worse than it is." Quilkka said with a wry smile. She took the trailing end of the bandage. "I'll hold this end. You do the rest."
Taimi took another quick second to gather herself and began wrapping, doing her very best to match Quilkka's fast, coordinated motions. But the veteran made it look easy. The bandage ended up a little loose and uneven.
"Oh, darn, hang on - " Taimi grumbled. She started to try undoing it, but Quilkka stopped her.
"Oh no, you finish it up. I could care less about perfect if I wasn't bleeding out here."
"R-Right - "
Quilkka's morbid sense of humor oddly had the ability to put Taimi both at ease and on edge. She diligently went on wrapping, tighter and tighter, using up more bandage, and finished. Quilkka took the other end of the bandage from her and pulled on it one more time for good measure, tied it off, then told Taimi where to cut.
Quilkka raised her newly wrapped arm, showing it off. "There!" She dropped her arm and her voice. "Bet you're second-guessing learning anything from me, huh?"
"No!" Taimi grinned crooked. "This just...isn't what I had in mind."
