There were zero context clues. If you're looking for a sign this is it?? 😆

Blue is by no means a pushover to make it clear. They’re very much the type who if provoked too much will set stern boundaries. But that’s in regards to things like directly being harassed/belittled/etc. What blue is bad at handling is when people are more subtle about it. It’s easy to realize someone is being mean to you when they’re insulting you/harassing you, but it’s much harder when they aren’t directly bothering you but instead just making you feel bad. That’s why blue is able to both set hard boundaries with Lime when too fed up, but also get taken advantage of in the workplace: their occasional arguments with Lime doesn’t involve them playing on Blues guilt.
In the end they will always put their patients wellbeing over their own, and that’s very much known. Phrasing their choice to try and step back as them trying to step away from the responsibility changes the dynamic from personal to professional, and they don’t want to be a bad doctor

Midnight (for Odesza 2022)
Wording is pretty important and it very much plays into how I feel like blue would view themselves in the safety department at least. I remember seeing a fic that I just keep returning to about this. In it blue refers to preventing any further murders as keeping “all of you” safe. Lime then corrected them, asking if they meant “all of us” and blue asked “what’s the difference?”
That. That right there encapsulates how blue views these things perfectly. When they are considering the safety of the crew they are not factoring themselves into it— they are trying to keep their patients safe.
Twilight Zone/Thorn is actually peak horror design.
Darkside and Twilight Zone are more explicitly linked as opposites and references to Tales From the Darkside and - obviously - The Twilight Zone. ...In Japan. In North America, they felt the Zone reference toed the legal line a bit too much and used the "Thorn" localization.
The series clearly has a great amount of surrealist imagery and inspiration to it, but the horror roots are there, too, though they never return nearly as overtly or as jarringly as in the Roxas prologue of II and the general low-key presence and uncanniness of the "lesser" Nobody enemies.
(Ever notice that Saix's Berzerkers seem to actually be the hammer with the humanoid shape "wielding" it being more like some kind of vestigial appendage along for the ride? Sometimes the hammer forcibly shrinks its "wielder" just to get it out of the way for the moment or because it's...trying to interpret the animation data of an analog clock?)
(Tangential, but Roxas is associated with the Samurai Nobodies and has some measure of dominion over them, maybe even being based directly on him and coming into being at the same time he did, so... What's that about? The "ecosystem" of "Lesser Nobodies" is a giant mystery still after all this time. "Creepers" are lower in rank than "Dusks" and they're the only two "general-purpose" Nobodies not associated with any specific character. Dusks are implied to be the only Nobodys besides outright Organization-level humanoids capable of speech. Presumably there were underling types associated with Vexen, Zexion and Lexaeus as well that the audience just never comes across, implying that they collectively ceased to exist once their "patron" did?)
Themes shift to more existential ambiguity and Fridge Horror than the explicit or hostilely surreal and clearly-threatening-but-functionally-inexplicable.
Ever look at the "UNCATEGORIZED" and "Not Installed" section of your Steam Library and realize you've bought dozens of full-priced games at their launches that you're yet to even start - some of them two or more generations old, at this point?
I will play you at some point, Sleeping Dogs.
I'm sorry I forgot about you, Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen.
...I pre-ordered the Deluxe Edition of Atomic Heart...?
...Why do I have Detroit: Become Human for PS4 -and- PC?
