I was introduced to Natalie Chan of Guardian of Eden through a friend recently.
Friend: Hey, what do you think of animal communicators?
Me: *scoffs* what? like people who claim to speak with the dead?
Friend: Wait wait, I thought that too. But my sister did it. And she said it was quite interesting. At the end of the session, her dog told her she was worried about her because he head looked like it was in pain. My sister had a really bad headache earlier that morning! How would the communicator have known?
Me: Maybe she’s a really good social media stalker.
Nevertheless, it intrigued me. So, I googled. Not much came up, apart from Natalie’s Instagam and Facebook, there was 1 blog post. This review/blog about the session made me really want to book a session. As part of my skepticism, I turned all my social media to private. Hey, I like to stalk people, so I assume others do too! 😛
After my session with Natalie, I really do feel like I got to speak with my pets. I do think some bits were rather generic, however, there were bits (see below) that are accurate to the individual pet!
Before my session, Natalie asked me to send her a photo of each pet, their names and gender. That’s it.
Natalie connects with them via the photo, and the session is carried out over text on What’sApp. You can read the full excerpt here, but these are the parts that I felt were very true to my furbabies.
That night, I was carrying Gin, and saying how my boyfriend can use Gin’s fur for hair implants 😛 and I said to use the ears cause it’s he softest. So, it was really interesting that Gin thinks we like to touch his ears cause it’s soft. Recently, we’ve been checking for ticks!! And usually, we’re detangling his mats!
I also tend to step on Gin’s paws cause I assume he’s smart enough to move out of my way 😛
This is hilarious, because Puffy is a super grump!!
Seeing as that Natalie has never met Gin, it was surprising that she used the word young energy, as opposed to energetic, or hyper like most descriptions on the internet!
100%! One of our friends actually wondered if he has a hearing problem. But I think, he just choses to ignore. He can hear me calling him when he’s 400m away and out of sight while I do some gardening.
This is how I imagine Puffy! Just monotoned, annoyed at everything. But when I anthropomorphize him, he swears too 😛
My Puff is such a grump. He gwas at lots of things. Especially when he’s hangry.
This one was interesting. He likes carrots, but he doesn’t love it. He LOVES grapes. Grapes are like his bananas. He can smell them and runs to the kitchen. I’ve never really given my bunnies brocolli, so that was bit iffy. But the “dark thin stick thing”, this is his FAVOURITE food (grape is his treat). It’s burdock root. It’s a long root, and I cut it up into little fingers for him because of his malocclusion. He will eat ALL of this first from his breakfast plate before eating anything else. It seems like he has to beat Moppy to eat more of it than she can.
Hehehe, in hindsight, I did stop playing chase with him. And when I did chase him, it was to pick him up.
Yep, sounds like Puff. “Stop bothering me”
She totally is. And in her own world I think that too.
After the session, I realized what this treat is! It is their papaya tablets I give them everynight. The cap is flat and red, and she paws at it to make me hurry up. She is faster than Puffy when it comes to this, and will follow us into the bedroom even if she’s doing something else. Whereas if Puff is doing something else, he will react (fast) once he hears the bottle being shaked.
She must be scared because she has to follow and watch puffy get his teeth trimmed with a dremel monthly!
Overall, I left the session feeling like I got to know my pets a little more, and that they do actually understand us. I didn’t feel like it was a waste of money, and may consider doing 1 pet session! 60mins for 3 pets was really tough to ask everything I wanted to know.
If you’re interested in booking a session with Natalie, reach out on her Instagam or Facebook. The sessions are conducted over What’sApp, and is $100/hr up to 2 hours. A portion of her proceeds are donated towards Animals Asia.
