I guess I really was wrong and I'm sorry for that hinduphobia.
How do I accept this religion in its true sense? Because some things people do in the name of this (or any) religion are truly disturbing and I don't wanna let those acts ruin my perception of what this religion truly stands for
Aaah..I know how that feels when you see people going off the rails and committing crimes in the name of religion and how it can make one feel alienated and even hateful for the said religion. I used to feel the same until I realised that human degeneracy has brought a lot of this upon us rather than necessarily the fundamentals of say a religion like Hinduism.
I have actually seen a lot of hinduphobia on tumblr so I assumed you were another such person and I am sorry as well if I came off as rude in my response.
Hinduism in its purest essence talks about oneness of humanity with the supreme consciousness and it includes all beings. It has no dogma or set rules. I hope everyone who harms innocents get their karma and justice for the ones who are harmed including women, animals and children. This is why we pray for peace and wellbeing of all creatures in Hindu prayers.
So honestly, I've rarely ever come across Hinduphobia, or even Hindu content on Tumblr (except once, maybe?), so I do not know of the hatred at all. My exposure to Hinduism has mostly been that of brilliant right wing men of our country, so you know where I'm coming from right?
I'd also like to know why exactly people think of us as "dirty cow worshippers" cuz I really thought not eating meat was the best thing ever??
Also, hinduism has multiple philosophies, and while the gist of it all is as you said, which ones do you believe in?
