Overall I’m really happy with the project outcome. Casting was quite stressful as the girls I was optioning kept being dropped by agents, Agustina worked so well for it in the end so glad I managed to confirm her. The stylist understood the concept so well, and delivered amazing garments, including German designers which was perfect. I had hair and makeup for the shoot which I think is reflected in the quality of the overall shoot, and the location worked out successfully due to my scouting and careful planning. I enjoyed producing this shoot from start to finish and have delivered a professional standard of work, looking forward to showcasing the prints at the degree show. The only thing I would change is to have shot more outside locations, I believe the inside shots were not as successful and cohesive. Alongside shooting more video footage, as I’m still getting used to shooting video I struggle to get enough footage to work with.

I’ve collaborated with a music student to create a techno track for my artist, this also helped me with editing as I had a beat to work with. Really happy with the outcome of this collaboration!

Used this tutorial to aid my editing skills in Premiere. Really helped as in one shot I really wanted to use the makeup artist walks into the frame. 

Initially I wanted to use the logo at the end of title sequence, but when I added the now out on itunes I felt it would be too long, so I’ve overlaid the text into the video to build on the layering technique used. 

For the promo video I shot using an old camcorder, to create a 90s feel to go with my artist, along with deliberate camera shake and jumpy movements. The footage I used was from the blue backdrop look, this keeps the consistency with the primary image, strengthening the brand image.

Final Images

- I didn’t select the stairs images as they were less successful, we wanted the underground club style however the carpet and white walls ruins this, it looks out of place, and is lit from up the stairs as opposed to from front of due to space issues.

Beautiful portrait, and use of portraiture on the back of the cover too. As its about the artist, need to make sure the focus is portraiture as opposed to the fashion.

Really strong cover image, used both as the cover on a fire backdrop, and on the actual CD. Profile viewpoint is really strong. Strong colours also make the album attractive. Good use of colour in the inside booklet, each shot is a different colour background which works really well to keep it interesting, varying this is successful here. Especially with the use of purple and orange together.

Punk Rock band from the seventies, the graphics work really well on this cover, use of colour on the black and white images. Candid approach, most images appear to be shot during performance. The cover, although shot on the street still appears candid and to go with the rest of the images. Consistency is key.
