I nearly chose an all crime Top 3 for July. But then I changed my mind. What do you think, did I get it right? Or should I have gone for more gore? Matching Reds Going Nowhere Time
This month's competition winners for our poetry and flash fiction competition.
I forgot this, too.
Forgot to post the link to my latest FlashFlood story, didn’t I?

I've revived an old WordPress blog of mine. It's fun. It's insane, writing a story a day, even if they are so short.
It's more my speed, as well. I prefer comment to re-blogging. There you have it: I'm a grumpy old woman.
My winning story Survival of the Sneakiest is up on 1000words today.
My 200-word story Survival of the Sneakiest is one of the five winning stories of a flash fiction competition 1000words ran last month.
I wrote the story and almost didn't send it in. It just goes to show that you can't predict how a story you've written will do in a competition. I tend to be on the over-critical side. I'm glad I got over myself this time.
From Monday to Friday this week, the winning stories will be posted. Mine will be up on Thursday.

Et voilà: my latest story on FlashFlood.
I'm working on a post in which I'll talk about the editing process – polishing up these 199 words was quite a bit of work. It'll be up soon.
Brilliant little flashes, written in response to our prompts.
Happy National Flash Fiction Day!
