Samandriel managed to pull himself away from the crowd just as his brother ran over. Looking up at his brother, relief washed over his features. He didnβt know how it was possible, but it didnβt matter. He found one sibling out of many. Thatβs all that mattered.Β
"Donβt apologize, Michael. If you hadnβt called my name, I may have missed your presence entirely," he admitted as a smile tugged on the corners of his lips.Β
His smile slowly faded though; he didnβt have the heart to tell him.Β
A pause.Β
"βYes. I have Fallen, Michael. My Grace was already weak before the Fall, but now I can barely feel it. I feel myself growing more and more human with each passing day."
"Iβm frightened. All of Heaven has Fallen."Β
So it was settled β Michaelβs Grace was practically nonexistent.
In a way, he was relieved. At least he knew he was nothing less than his distraught siblings β but at the same time, simultaneous to the craving for their absent Fatherβs attention, Michael felt a tinge of disappointment.
Still, he might as well be grateful. He knew there were others out there (ie, Castiel) who were currently enduring worse.
Before him stood Samandriel, an angel he hadnβt quite gotten to know as well as heβd have liked. The fighting interrupted a number of things β whereas Michael was keen on raising the majority of his siblings (or at least, as many as a busy archangel like himself could manage at one time) β¦ work got in the way.
Work which he now realized was unnecessary.
The look in Samandrielβs eyes as his caught upon Michaelβs was heartbreaking β he looked lost. Confused. Frightened. Just as Michael felt currently β and heβd supposed the remainder of his siblings inevitably felt the same.
ββMy dear brother,ββ He murmured, wishing to comfort. He hadnβt quite grasped the art of human expressions, and so he refrained from attempting a smile. He didnβt suppose a smile was necessary for the moment regardless. Butβ¦ that was what humans did during heartfelt moments, right? Smiled?
ββI apologize for your troublesβ¦ I doubt any of our siblings are lacking the same,ββ He spoke in a soft voice, seeking only to comfort. ββIβve been searching for days, Samandriel, and you are the only one I have managed to find. I assure you, fear is not necessary, for I refuse to leave you in a time of such need,ββ He assured, nodding his head lightly. His hand remained upon Samandrielβs shoulder.
It was then that he truly realized how awful heβd been at being the older brotherβ¦ He decided then that it was time to mend things.
