Yeah, so I decided to cut my hair short for senior year round two… Be honest: what do you think of it?

“I absolutely adore you any way you look, Gracie. You know that. But the hair is great. You look just as perfect as you did before.”

I was attributing it to everyone being back here at once. The few times I’ve come back since graduation, this is the first I feel that with the whole town and not just my parents’ house.

“You’re probably right, actually. I haven’t been back since the year after I graduated, before I moved out of town. It’s weird to know that my first time being back after so long that everything is the same. I can’t tell if it makes me want to stay, or leave even faster.”

“Yeah - it really brings back memories. It’s weird, to think that we’re really all…old. And not old in a bad way, but not teenagers anymore. We don’t run this town anymore - we no longer fit in such a confined space. It’s…honestly a little bit scary.”

“I didn’t really expect anyone else to understand exactly that. I mean, I recognize these people, and these places, and these names. But I don’t quite remember how I felt like I belonged here. It’s more than a little scary to me, because I guess you never really think that growing up is going to happen until it’s already done.”

“Thanks. I missed you too, it’s been way too long. How has everything been lately?”

“That it has, Rose. Things are good, can’t really complain. What about you? Nothing short of great, I hope?”

“It’s okay, I know you didn’t mean it with any harm. I’m doing pretty well, trying to decide if I’m happy to be here or scared. How are you, Sonny?”

“Happy. Always choose happy. I’m okay, living out in Virginia and teaching. Not much to say, really. Other than it’s weird to be back home, I guess. After I left.. I never really came back. But I’m glad we both did. Now that I’m here I can’t imagine not being.”

Well teacher’s are the foundation of society, enriching the minds of the next generation and all that… I bet your students absolutely adore you!

“I’m the drama teacher, Gracie. I don’t shape anything. And not many students pay attention to someone who just hands out scripts and shows them where to stand on stage.”

Rowan picked up Sonja in her arms, and the two year old girl immediately hugged her mother. Ro smiled at her, kissing her nose, before she pulled back…only to spot a familiar redhead. It had been a long while since she had seen Sonny in person, hadn’t seen her since she began her travels with the USWNT, but she always managed to recognize her. Taking a deep breath, the blonde rubbed her nose against her daughter’s cheek, deciding that she was going to go up to Sonny. She thought that it would be nice to play catch up, and she could only hope that things went smoothly.

“Hello Miss Sonny. —– Glad to see you made it.” More like glad that she had time to make it; Rowan was always the one that was coming and going. It was why things didn’t last for her; her second chance with Sonny had gone down the drain, her do-over of a relationship with Scarlett had as well ( it ended in a dropped engagement ), and with Erin...well, they had gone fine, but they had realised they weren’t meant to be. The only one she really had was her daughter, Sonja, she was the constant in her life, and she always blessed the day she got the go on the adoption. It wasn’t like anyone knew she was adopted, though, she let everyone to believe Sonj was her real daughter. “How you been?” sonnyfarrout

Sonny rests her head on her hand with a small smile as she kicks back in the Slow Down’s back booth, the one she’d collected the most memories in. Especially with Rowan. Their unapologetic PDA went virtually ignored and uninterrupted throughout four years of high school here, but that isn’t what she remembers most here. Rather their time spent sitting across from each other and complaining, laughing, or just looking at one another. It’s odd to think of it now, all of it simply just a distant memory. A ghost of her life before leaving Roseboro for good. No intentions set on coming back. But here she is, ten years later, that same (much smaller, now) part of her heart luring her back just for the chance to even catch a glimpse of her first love.

“I know I don’t have the most popular opinion, but I loved my time in Roseboro. Plus, I wouldn’t have met people like you without it.”

“Mine was... Rocky, to say the least, but home is home. I’ll always be happy to be back. Aw, you’re the cutest. I missed you, Rose.”

“I have definitely not hit that feeling yet. All these vibes I’m getting, it’s like something in this town doesn’t want me to stay.”

“I’m sorry, babe. It must be hard to be here now, huh?.. I-- Sorry. You don’t have to answer that. It didn’t sound nearly as insensitive in my head. How about, how are you, Quinn? You’re always wanted with me.”

I can’t say I agree with you there. It does feel like I’ve left this town; and I can’t wait to leave it again. I miss my penthouse.
