I don't know how to articulate this well, but I really fucking hate the way a lot of thin writers write fat characters. Like how men write women "breasting boobily" there is something so dehumanizing about how fat characters are often written. "He waddled", "he lumbered", the writer of the book I'm reading always mentions this characters "fleshy hand" when he does something with his hand. Like, we already know that he's fat. There is no need to describe everything he does as "doing it fatly".

#people do this to patrick in a manner that’s like completely bizarre #there’s an era of peterick fic where people describe patrick’s body in like the most disgusting terms possible #but it’s from his point of view so it’s supposed to be self deprecating but it’s still like completely unpleasant to read about 😭#especially when it’s interrupting smut or something #and then other offshoots and variations of this currently. the author’s opinion of pete affects this as well #both pete’s body and personality 😭😭

I mean obviously we're never gonna know what every argument between them were about but I don't think that was the only reason for the hiatus. both patrick and joe had been saying thet should take a break. it was definitely another reason they needed a break but like it wasnt the only reason they did. maybe i misunderstood your post if so sorry english isn't my first language

i was specifically talking about depictions of specific (mostly made up) conflicts in fanfiction which often make patrick come across as more reasonable than he makes himself sound in his own words lol

hiatus era fics lowkey don't hit the same ever since patrick revealed the arguments he and pete were having at the time were "pete says i have to market and tour our album which makes him a self obsessed maniac who doesn't care about art" you could make patrick as histrionic and unreasonable as you possibly can and it would still be ooc because the things he was saying and doing in real life would still top it
