I'm imagining a Rika and Yuuta/Sukuna and Yuji type situation.

Maybe instead of anicent fingers, Reader accidentally eats one of Asura's eyes, and now they must find and eat the other ones now turned into cursed objects. Maybe Reader is someone already quite loyal to the pure madness that motivates the turn of their wrist after each swing of their weapon as such, loyal to Asura but in a, "I've had you my whole life and you undoubtedly apart of me I must bare" type of way and it grows into something. And Asura is determined to turn you into something worse for wear.

I can see Asura's soul link being treated and remanifested as its own domain expansion. Probably call it "The Black Moon of Madness" or something really corny like that, a strange mixture of Asura's sealed shrine down under the school and The Death Room. It has a lot of perks, but it also comes with many risks. While the effects of the domain impair the opponents senses, it restricts the attachments of the user while also sharpening their naked instincts, it nulls their humanity, dulls their apprehension, and numbs their fear down to a fine nub. It seems ultimately beneficial on the surface, but the compulsion of the madness makes Reader have an incredibly difficult time putting a separate distinction between friend and foe, it drives them utterly insane. There is no fear for potential collateral, no fear for disappointment, no fear of pain, no fear for consequence, and no fear to drive them away from harming or murdering their current opponents. All this ensures they can output their techniques to their maximum capacity. There is only them and the broken Moon gazing upon their worship of their lord. Only them, the king of insanity that motivaties their bloodlust and the exotic madness that rapidly fuels the heart boiling their blood from the inside out.
