Jubilee raised her eyebrows briefly in response before taking a sip from her own mug. Shogo really was taking after her in many ways, but he was still uniquely himself. He was smart and quick to learn and even had a vocabulary more advanced than most at his age. Given what insight she had on one possible future, that trend would continue and she certainly wanted to make sure he enjoyed learning, even if it had always been harder for her at times.

It didn’t hurt that he was growing up in a school.

Taking another sip, she sighed, leaning back in her chair and balancing it carefully on the back two legs. It’d be another hour before the students would start waking up to start their days, enjoying their last weeks of freedom before classes started again. Jubilee almost felt the staff enjoyed the summer months more… when trouble wasn’t interrupting, at least.

        ❝ He has the toddler advantage though, he’s too cute to use his name like that. Maybe once he’s a preteen. An’ yeah, don’t think I’ve forgotten that. Maybe next century. ❞

But it did get a smile out of the young vampire.

        ❝ That’d be nice. He loves the zoo, if you wanna hit that too. Especially the bears, he keeps yelling peanut at them, no idea why. ❞

Since Lin and Trevor were usually with him at the zoo, she’d have to ask them. But the idea of a day at the park sounded nice. Especially if it was uneventful.

“#@£$.” The foul mouthed mutant uttered as he looked over his shoulder, the unmistakable figure of one of the X-men in his unique line of sight, tearing him between turning and running or simply standing there motionless. The latter, however, won through, and David found himself momentarily planted to the same spot, every limb in his body tense as he discreetly crossed his fingers.

‘ Please don’t start lecturin’ me, please don’t start lecturin’ me. ’ He rampantly thought to himself, interrupted only by another far more sinister tone, one that soon dominated his thoughts, using the voice of Charles Xavier to taunt him at every turn. ‘ What have you done wrong now, David? Who else have you hurt? ’

“What do you want?” He asked her as casually as he could. ‘ You will never have what it takes to be one of my X-men. ’ "I – I haven’t done anythin’ wrong. Well… I don’t think I have. Have I?”
