A fairly new producer to the scene is Swede Donnie Castle, who will be releasing his debut mixtape in February. The hammering “Egodød” is his first single since the Avoidance of Daily Life trilogy, which was written about a self-destructive period in his life. Listen more on Soundcloud. 

There’s nothing better than the pure euphoria that permeates my being when I encounter a new producer or musician by chance, and I find myself falling head over heels for the artist’s music. That’s exactly what happened when I stumbled upon Swedish producer Donnie Castle and the video for his debut single, Oooh. Oooh’s foggy electronica, idiosyncratic glitch pop, and shadowy synthwave is like a delicious combination of The xx and goth influenced acts like TR/ST, Crystal Castles, or even freak folk sisters CocoRosie.
