i am getting really tired of having this discussion again and again because itās not a hard concept to grasp and iām sure iām not the only one who feels this way, but here i am once again reminding yāall that if the faceclaim/s you plan or want to use for wanda maximoff and pietro maximoff is not listed as being roma/romani anywhere credible, or has not themselves stated it, then find another faceclaim to use. if theyāre onlyĀ āpossibly romaniā then it would be much better to use someone else whoās appropriate until you can verify if they truly are of that descent. ( this of course applies to any character who has been explicitly stated to be romani in canon, not just these twoĀ ). these characters have been whitewashed by hollywood and are notoriously miscast by a huge chunk of the marvel/mcu fandom because their writers do not care about proper representation, despite multiple posts over the years like this one. it has to stop and people have to do better.
there tends to be debate about whether lorna dane is also part-romani like her siblings because thereās also debate about whether erik/magneto is actually sinti ( the comics have messed and changed a lot of stuff up over the years ) and thereās little information on the background of her mother. so itās an open slate for lorna, but sheās generally not seen as white. wanda and pietro, however, do have a romani mother so there is no reason for the two of them to be white. please also take note that wanda, pietro, and lorna are part-jewish. this is something that does not and should not change with them.
additionally, it takes one google search to learn that being roma/romani is not the same as being romanian. are there romani people who are also romanian? yes, iām sure there are. but that does not mean you can just use anyone of romanian descent if you donāt also know that they are romani.
