im so fucking sick of the dysphoria debate. sam smith comes out as nonbinary and the comments are like âbut do you experience dysphoria?????â like what makes you think you get to ask such a personal question? when someone comes out and tells you how they identify thats all you have to know. respect them and move on. the fuck is wrong with yâall
yre all ignoring this post bc yre fuckin cowards who dont want to admit asking a trans person who just came out âbut do you have dysphoria?â is the SAME as cis people asking âbut have you had the surgeryâ
if ur lgbtq, reblog with your identity and which character you usually play in smash
Iâm lesbian and I play link

heatwave!
For anyone living in Europe: the first heatwave of the season is forecast for tomorrow, and will likely stretch until Friday. Please stay safe.
Open your windows at night BUT close everything, including blinds and curtains, during the day
If you need it, buy a fan, a cold blanket or a cooler
Drink a lot
Also drink mostly water, without ice
If you can, avoid getting out in the sun between 11am and 6pm
If you need to go outside, wear sunscreen and a hat
Also loose clothes and natural, breathable fabrics
Think of your pets!Â
Make sure they have access to water and shade, bring them inside the house if possible, donât leave them in a car alone
Check on your grandma and other elderly relatives!Â
Old people are at risk during hot weather, so remind them to drink and stay inside with their blinds closed
If you or people you know are experiencing the following symptoms
breathlessness
chest pain
confusion
intense thirst
weakness
dizziness
cramps that get worse or donât go away
call an ambulance.Â
whoâs gonna tell tumblr that executive dysfunction is more than Not Doing Things?
okay
these are the executive functions. impairment of these functions is executive dysfunction
In light of some stunningly Bad Takes Iâve seen about this post, and posts like it, hereâs a clarification I would personally like to add.
Yes, executive dysfunction does frequently result in people wanting to do stuff, but not doing that stuff. Thatâs why people use the term that way.
IT ALSO MEANS A LOT OF OTHER THINGS. Including but not limited to: trouble remembering facts, trouble monitoring time, trouble stopping of finishing things you have started, struggling to regulate emotions (ex. getting very upset by minor setbacks)
And that matters. It matters that we have an umbrella term for this group of functions because they are related, and it matters that people not spread misinformation, even if they mean well.

Just a friendly warning; YouTube is doing screamer ads again. Itâs for the new Annabelle movie and it starts with âstaring contest in 3,2,1â followed by a jumpscare and a loud scream. I saw it today (June 20th) so keep an eye out for it.
Pro-tip to young trans guys:
If a stranger misgenders you, please please please do not ever utter the phrase, âIâm a man.â It sounds very unnatural and immediately sounds overly defensive.
My advice? Just look at the person like theyâre an idiot and, in the deepest voice possible, say, âUh. Alright, then.â
Just act as though they made a huge and obvious mistake, and donât get flustered. If youâre comfortable with it, handle the situation with humor and say something like, âMan, I know Iâve got a babyface, but I didnât think it was that bad.â
People are saying that you should be unapologetic but the keyword here is âstrangerâ. You could be in danger if the person is transphobic, and you have no way of knowing their stance if you donât know the person. So writing it off casually ensures the most low risk way of making your gender known.
Posting this again because of the new information added on.
Hey, I sometimes get ready afraid that something or someone is out to hurt me, especially at night. I start to think that there is something behind every corner. Should I talk to my therapist about this?
Most definitely, yes, you should. Whenever you start to notice that something isnât quite right with how youâre thinking, feeling, or acting, itâs so important to tell your therapist. Your therapist can help you determine why youâre feeling this way, whether itâs anxiety, paranoia, a delusion in the making, or anything. Donât let this slip by and say everythingâs okay, itâs not as bad as it could be, or it isnât as bad as other things Iâve experienced, because through personal experience, those things that we call âokayâ or âfineâ in the moment eventually become the things we compare it to. Youâre valid, okay? Please reach out to your therapist, things like this are horrifying and I donât want you to go through it love <3 Catch it while you can. Itâs so worth it.

Schizo Spectrum Disorders + Disorganised Speech
People in the schizo spectrum can be hard or sometimes frustrating to talk to. People who are uninformed about schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders can mistake this as rudeness, silliness, or inebriation but itâs actually one of the symptoms of a debilitating mental disorder.Â
Disorganised speech often occurs in a schizophrenic person leaving their speech short, baffling or incomprehensible. It can display itself as random topic changes, gibberish, slurring, making up random words, word salad, and rapid and incoherent speech which makes the person hard to understand.Â
I complied a list of speech/thought disorders found in people on the schizophrenic spectrum with some basic definitions.
Most of these can be found in other mental disorders and you should bring it up with your doctor if you experience any of these often, without your control and without cause or stimulant (i.e. drug use, drunkenness, lack of sleep etc.)
ALOGIA
also known as poverty of speech. this is when thereâs a lack of spontaneous speech. it can display itself in short and monosyllabic responses that trail off or end by the second syllable. it leads to an inability to make small talk or carry on simple conversation. in extreme cases it can even lead to partial mutism
( e.g. person 1: âhey howâs it going?â
person 2: âfine.â
person 1: âwhat do you want for dinner?â
person 2: [shrugs]
person 1: maybe we should go out, get chinese.
person 2: [shrugs]
person 1: do you want something else
person 2: no )
ECHOLALIA
this is the repetition of noises/words/phrases/sentences made by another person. persons experiencing echolalia often repeats questions or sentences directed to them and can make it difficult to carry on a conversation
( e.g. person 1:Â i have to go to the bathroom
person 2: go to the bathroom
person 1: can you watch my purse for me?
person 2: watch my purse for me
person 1: why are you doing that?
person 2: why am i doing that? )
THOUGHT BLOCKING
this is when thereâs an abrupt pause in someoneâs train of thought wherein the person often forgets the original topic. it can lead to multiple topics being covered in one sentence or to an unexpected and abrupt end to a conversation mid sentence
( e.g. i like that new song by [pause] ⌠i wish i didnât cut my hair. )
CLANGING
this is speech characterised by compulsive grouping of words by rhyming or alliteration. thereâs no logic or reason in this sort of speech
( e.g. we have to go get green grass grisly grey. (or) when will we wait with words which wing were whims? )
NEOLOGISM
this is the creation of new words often in the form of gibberish or nonsense babbling. it can happen as full sentences or a normal sentence that veers off into itÂ
( e.g. meaning to say âi want to go to sleep iâm tiredâ and actually saying âi want to go to sleep illa cravigesâ)
SCHIZOPHASIA/WORD SALAD
this is a bunch of random words strung together to no reason or purpose and while it can sometimes be vaguely related to the topic at hand, it comes out in a confusing array of disconnected words
( e.g. i want to get the purple apple match from the towel chair )
PRESSURE OF SPEECH
this is rapid paced, erratic, frantic speech. itâs usually loud and frenzied. itâs almost impossible to get the person experiencing it to pause and the listener will most likely not get a word in edgewise.Â
PERSEVERATION
this is the repetition of one word or phrase over and over after theyâve ceased to be relevant or appropriate to the situation.Â
( e.g. person 1: iâm going to take a walk in the park later
person 2: walk in the park
person 1: do you wanna come with?
person 2: walk in the park
[20 minutes later]
person 1: iâm gonna put on the kettle. do you want some tea?
person 2: walk in the park
NOTE: feel free to reblog whether or not youâre on the spectrum or have any mental illnesses at all. way too many people assume that schizo spectrum people are just rude or belligerent or mocking or joking when weâre really just exhibiting symptoms of our disorder.
Alogia, clanging, and neologisms are my worst ughhh, it makes communicating impossible

Awww Knirk, you flatter me!! It's always so fun to see yourself through someone else's (sympathetic) eyes. I'm generally bad at taking a compliment but tonight I'll try to be graceful and just say..your words mean a lot, thanks pal!! Also it's funny bc I think of you similarly, like I really look up to you, and when I first started following I had a major tumblr crush which felt so inappropriate cuz like..you're so young!?
Iâm not young itâs just you who are old! đ But like do you mind elaborating on why you looked up to me cause I see like zero reasons to do that and Iâm really flattered but I seriously canât imagine why you might feel that way.
Uhh Knirk?? There are so many reasons to look up to you!! You say whatâs on your mind, youâre friendly, youâre supportive, youâre persistent, youâre kind, and you made a nice little bubble of people through your blog! I look up to you too (like, big time). You were the first person I had ever interacted with that made me feel human, because I had never gotten to talk to anyone else with psychosis or see anyone with psychosis talk and be able to just exist. If that makes sense? You honestly just help me, and Iâm sure everyone else who follows you feel the same, to be human in a world that just likes to dehumanize us at every angle. Your blog is positive, even though itâs a vent blog, even though itâs about schizophrenia, which is something I never thought Iâd see positivity about because of everything I was fed growing up. Okay, that was long, but I just want you to know youâre so worthy of being looked up to (:
hey!!!
please take your meds đąđą
I used to think that 21/22 years old people were adults with a job and a house on their own⌠and here we are sharing memes
Like I know this post is funny and all, but the reason you thought that is because in past generations it was economically possible for 21/22 yos to have a steady job and a house⌠and we are still being held to those unrealistic and unattainable expectations
in 2019 we stop guilt tripping people into forgetting the struggles you caused them
i feel like i need to explain this. You shouldnât apologize to other people by insulting yourself. âIâm so sorry, iâm so stupid i suckâ is not an apology. Itâs a guilt trip. You make the person stop focusing on why theyâre hurt and focus on helping you instead. An apology combined with self deprecation is not an apology and never will be thank you for coming to my ted talk
This is something especially difficult for abused people to realize. Iâve adopted a strategy of, whenever I want to self deprecate in an apology, I realize what I actually want to say is âthank youâ.
So, âIâm so sorry, Iâm so stupid, I suckâ becomes, âIâm sorry. Thank you for being patient with me.â
I find that thatâs always what I wanted to say, but through my abuse, I was never taught the right language.
I felt like giving up so many times. Iâm glad I didnât.
