You sit in a café on a warm spring evening. One hand gripping onto the bottom of the cup while your thumb and index finger brought the tip of the straw to your mouth, taking a few sips of your vanilla milkshake. Listening to the sounds of cars passing by as you tap your fingers on the table as your eyes dart across the café’s beige walls. As you’re adjusting your straw a shadow of a person walks into your line of sight. Out of curiosity, you slowly lift your eyes off the milkshake eventually meeting your boyfriend’s harsh stare.

“What?” You muttered out softly as you move your milkshake to the corner of the table. You watched in confusion as he slips off his ring, slamming it onto the table.

“We’re done, I found someone new.” He spat out with venom lanced in his words, you feel your heart break into pieces. Raising your hands up, he slaps it down, storming out the café, leaving you in utter shock. You feel your mouth open ajar as you turn towards the window to open the blinds next to you, watching helplessly as his car drive away into the sunset.

Timidly removing your hands from the blinds you sit there in a moment of shock before climbing over the table brushing your hair back as you reach over to finish your milkshake, throwing out the straw letting out a sigh. You bolted towards the exit, looking both directions before walking home with your hands in your pocket, rethinking that ordeal.

Hastily unlocking the front door, you barged through the door ignoring your roomate, Jimin’s confused stare as you stormed into the kitchen, snatching a bottle of wine from the cabinet before stomping up the stairs into your room.

“Y/N! Hey! What’s wron-,” you cut off Jimin’s sentence by walking into the room, slamming and locking the door behind you. Pacing back and forth with the bottle of wine in your hand, squeezing the top or the bottle as mixed emotions flow all through your body. You try to take deep breaths but you end up screaming your lungs out as you begin making a fist with your free hand.

All you remember was his cold gaze killing you. The flame inside of his heart isn’t there anymore but replaced with ashes of his love. Some say time is medicine but as time goes by you’re slowly getting weaker. Grabbing the bottle, you muster strength to open the bottle of wine muttering, “Fine, I’ll forget you.” Before chugging down the wine in an attempt to ease the pain away. Falling back onto your bed, you drop the bottle letting it fall onto the floor before letting out a laugh as you grab your radio remote, blasting Gashina by Sunmi. Propping up on your shoulders, you grab the remote acting as if it’s a microphone screaming along to the lyrics.

“I’m gonna live like a flower, I’ll be myself. Can’t nobody stop me now! No try me,” you felt a lump in your throat slowly getting bigger. Running your hands through your hair, “Everyone wants my scent, but only you don’t know, like a fool! Are you surree you’re not crazy? Why are you leaving the pretty me here and going?!” Unknowing to you, a single tear rolled down your cheeks as you scream your heart out to that last lyric before dramatically falling down onto the bed, causing the bed to squeak a little as your hand relaxes fully. Staring up at your ceiling, you feel another tear stroll down your cheek as you repeat the following lines, “You’re leaving me here….you’re leaving me so easily. You promised we’d go together but you’re leaving, leaving.”
