My next Iron lung fanart installment that I worked on until 4am 🫡 this movie possessed me, guys. I haven't been this inspired and motivated in a LONG time. This one took me a hot minute because I decided to go full on painting everything while I kept the lineart for the Convict. Also, idk if anyone will catch this, but I was kinda of inspired by the Welcome to Derry bloody Pennywise for how I drew the blood on the Convict :p

Also I've been highly debating this, but should I make prints?? Or something??? Would people be interested in that? :o

They managed to present a man with a dark past and anger issues who is also not a monster. He is a human being desperate to survive and nobody even knows his name anymore. The closest thing he had to a family he resents but still obviously misses terribly as he clings to that pendant and shakes.

We don't know for sure what he did or didn't do, or why he did it, or even the extent of how, but that doesn't MATTER because nobody deserves to be subjected to what he was. None of them did. Nobody deserves this and the narrative throws that at you over and over again. Even Ava, in the end, tells Simon that this isn't a punishment. If she could save him, she would, because she grows to recognize his humanity. Even though it's too late. Even though he was doomed the second they put him on that ship and she knew it.
