Quick Info:
Name: Sofia Fonesca Occupation: Co-owner of a Quidditch themed bar Gender: Cis Female Age: 25 Face Claim: Deepika Padukone
Headcanons:
Born in a pureblood family hailing from Goa, the Fonescas’ uphold their proud Portuguese heritage. Sofia is a third generation witch, the younger sister to Amber. They are as close as sisters can be, given they were only a year apart from each other.
Despite being the younger sister, Sofia is more on the serious nature. While Amber is more free-spirited, Sofia likes to set her own limits. She has always been more of the pragmatic thinker; an attitude that did not gain her many friends in her Hogwarts years.
The youngest Fonesca loved Quidditch, however. She played Keeper for the Slytherin team, and she loved every minute that she spent on the team. And besides, the game was a big part of her life. Her cousins, aunts and uncles were hotshots in Falmouth and Puddlemere, and and if that wasn’t the best thing ever, who knew what was.
Sofia is a level-headed libertarian, pragmatic to a fault and often the realist between the two sisters. She wasn’t sure where her bleak outlook on life came from, but it helped keep her away from heartbreak, that she is terrible at handling. She believed in self-preservation, protecting herself before anyone else. Only if your own arse was clean could you pass the tissue paper to someone else.
Even though she knew she didn’t have to, Sofia worried about Amber. Sometimes she felt like their roles were reversed; was it really a little sister’s job to worry about her older sister? Probably not, but given how close they were, it wasn’t surprising. Her earliest and most fond memories involve her sister, them holding hands and Amber showing her the ropes of Hogwarts. Despite Sofia’s show of independence, she would never truly function without Amber at her side.
Sofia was scouted by her aunt Melissa’s alma mater team before she moved to play Nationals Leagues, Puddlemere United. Invited to try out with them, the girl jumped at the chance. While, the Harpies would always be her number one team, Puddlemere was a close second, and to play with them would be an honour. And so she did. And she made it, full time on the team.
But she did not take it up. Sofia couldn’t, not after she heard that Amber got rejected. It would not be fair, because Amber loved Quidditch more than Sofia and the little Fonesca only wanted her sister to be happy. So, she turned down the chance, put her tail between her legs and joined her sister in the heartbreak that was their shared failure.
The idea for a bar actually hit Amber in the middle of the night, while they got smash drunk in the safety of their house. Sofia wasn’t going to let it go and soon enough, they opened their very own, Quidditch exclusive bar. It was perfect; they had ground rules and everyone to know was here and it was a calm atmosphere to handle.
Sofia handled the uglier sides of the business, like stocking and playing bouncer. But she did not mind; Amber was happy and they were rubbing shoulders with the rich and famous. Life was working out nicely and they were running something they could call their own.
Their star-studded guest list has yet to render Sofia mute or make her star-struck. To her, they are just regular people who play. And Sofia would never understand why Amber fawns over them. But their sudden rise in clientele didn’t hurt, and if it was Amber who brought them, she certainly did not care.
