Wash Your Hands - Prevent the Spread of Germs
It is that time of year...when the sounds of sneezing, coughing, and fevers, signs of the common cold, are all around us everywhere we go. With the weather being colder, we tend to stay indoors more often, in school, home, and work. And with the holidays approaching there are parties, gatherings at home, and shopping in the malls...more contact is made with other people and objects they have touched, causing the spread of germs which can make us sick.
Germs live everywhere, on everything we touch. One of the more recent is on the touch screen of a phone, e-reader, and similar devices which require contact with your fingers. It is recommended to clean these devices with cloths specifically designed for that purpose.
We all remember being told to wash our hands, it is so obvious, the idea of having clean hands before you touch your own face or a loved one's face. It is the one basic and the easiest way to avoid the spread of germs and possibly prevent a cold. According to the CDC (The Center for Disease Control) Keeping hands clean is one of the most important ways to prevent the spread of infection and illness. The CDC's hand washing hygiene guidelines are obvious, wash your hands:
Before preparing Food
After handling Raw Meats
After Coughing or Sneezing
Using the Restroom
After Changing Diapers
Contact with Animals
You knew those rules I am sure, but a reminder of the places germs lives doesn't hurt. Correct hand washing is essential and easy to prevent the spread of germs.
