Tales from Moominvalley (1962) - A collection of short stories which includes, The Spring Tune, A Tale of Horror, The Fillyjonk Who Believed in Disasters, The Last Dragon in the World, The Hemulen Who Loved Silence, The Invisible Child, The Secret of the Hattifatteners, Cedric, and The Fir Tree.

Moominpappa at sea (1965) - Moominpappa finds himself in the need for an adventure. He takes his family on a journey to a lighthouse. Once they get there they meet a fisherman who wants nothing to do with them. Moominmamma paints a mural of flowers from moominvalley on the walls because she gets homesick. 

Moominvalley in November (1971) - The Moomins aren’t present in this novel. Multiple different characters decide to visit the valley during late Autumn only to find the Moomins gone. Toft, a Hemulen, a Fillyjonk, Mymble, Little My, and Snufkin, wait for the Moomins to return. After all meeting, their personalities start to clash.

Moomin: cause of ur butt

The Exploits of Moominpappa (1950) - Moominpappa reads through is his memoir while Moomin, Sniff and Snufkin listen in. The story begins with Moominpappa at an orphanage and how he leaves and finds friends to go on adventures on. Throughout the book we are introduced to the Muddler, the Joxter, Hodgkin, and the Mymble. The story ends with Moominpappa meeting Moominmamma.

Moominsummer Madness (1954) - Moominvalley has another flood because of volcano eruption. The Moomin family take residence in a theatre, where Emma lives, that was floating by. Moomin and Snorkmaiden sleep in a tree while the theatre was tied. While they are asleep, the theatre floats off and leaves them stranded. Little My falls overboard as is found by Snufkin. When Snufkin takes his revenge from the Park Keeper, Moomin and Snorkmaiden are accidentally arrested for his crimes. Moominpappa decides to put on a play in the theatre and everyone gets reunited. 

Moominland Midwinter (1957) - Takes place during the winter while everybody is hibernating. Moomin accidentally wakes up. He decides to explore Moominvalley in the winter and ends up meeting Too-Ticky who’s with little My. They have adventures and are visited by the Groke who seeks warmth. They also build a snow-horse for the Lady of the Cold. 

The Moomins and the Great Flood (1945) - Moomin and Moominmamma set out to find Moominpappa who has gone out to adventure with hattifatteners. On their way they are introduced to a character named Sniff. There are many obstacles they need to face including a flood. 

Comet in Moominland (1946) - Set after a few weeks after the great flood, the moomins discover a comet is headed towards the valley. Sniff and Moomin set out to an observatory. On their way they meet Snufkin and The Snorks. They find out they only have a few days until the comet hits so they return to moominvalley. (don’t want to spoil the rest)

Finn Family Moomintroll (1948) - Moomin, Sniff, and Snufkin find the Hobgoblins hat that has magical properties and can transform objects. After realizing the hats powers, they get rid of it, but Moomin and Snufkin retrieve and hide it away. The family travels to the hattifatteners island moominhouse is transformed to a jungle because of the hat. The characters Thingumy and Bob are introduced. They have stolen the kings ruby from the Groke and keep it in a briefcase. 

Moomintroll: the main protagonist voiced by Taron Egerton. Moominpappa’s and Moominmamma’s son. Moomin is very brave and family and friendship is very important to him.
