Yes I have! Fresh, smoked, and fried. I enjoy fresh and fried more. I've never been one really for smoked seafood, but perhaps it's the kind I get?

My favorite is going to a crawfish broil place because 9 times out of 10 they're gonna have oysters without the fancy stuff involved with an oyster bar. There's actually a bit involved with oyster eating. Especially with fresh ones.

That and pairing wine with them is always nice. I like to have a nice dry white when I eat fresh oysters. I drink a diet coke when I have them fried, though.

Oyster season is typically in months that end with R. This means it's more sustainable and healthy to eat them during the winter months. It's safer, and while now we can eat during all months with refrigeration, eating primarily during the R months allows for better flavor and repopulation of wild oysters.
