He had carved his legend into it with his own hands though, which made for an admittedly different life than being born into power. 

“Whatever you choose to do, know that you have my support.” He smiled back at her, and if his was fake as hers was, it was impossible to tell. “It would be a shame to lose such a promising young woman.”

“Well, either that or Yang will start making ridiculous jokes about it.” For all that though, the sisters would mean well. It probably wouldn’t even be all even an afterthought to them. Well other than perhaps Yang being more than a little bit more protective about the whole hallow bones, even if it wasn’t necessary.

It was simply... There was a certain pride that she had. That carried not just from family, but herself. She had given her word after all. Estranged to the other party or not at the moment.

The headmaster kept his posture relaxed and inviting, the girl seemed nervous enough without him looming for the entire conversation. At her words his gaze dropped once more to the pillow in question, and he had already made the connections that needed to be made. 

Perhaps that was what made everything so very much more painful.

“I suppose in that regards, I have already made a decision. It’s simply a little... difficult to carry through. He is my father, no matter what our disagreements might be.” The smile wasn’t forced, but it certainly wasn’t happy. At least... not completely.

She seemed nervous, not that anyone less perceptive than him would have noticed. That was understandable though, this situation was far from the norm, and even further from what anyone would assume of a Schnee. He smiled gently, trying his best to comfort her.

“Your father has not yet deigned to call me personally no, but I have received more than a few inquiring messages.” That there had been any at all would come as a surprise to many of those who disapproved of the Schnee CEO. Still, Ozpin was a discreet enough man to get through any communication without suspicion.

She laced her fingers together, stopping their shaking. The soft surface of cloth beneath them as she allows that smile to show. “I haven’t exactly been answering his calls myself. I’m not quite sure I’m quite prepared for the questions he has about my choices.” Well, an interrogation was more accurate. Still, this was her father. Family was still family, in the end.

“That’s certainly relieving.” Ozpin leaned forward, clasping his hands in front of his face as he glanced over his student. She seemed well enough, but then again she was quite the expert at hiding her hurts from others. “Please, have a seat.”

How many of these little meetings had they had thus far? Quite a few if his memory served him correctly. But if anyone needed it, it was Weiss Schnee.

Let it not be said that Weiss was not graceful. Sweeping about to seat herself on the chair in one smooth motion. Her hands folded neatly over the pillow now placed upon her lap. The very pillow now being inquired about.

The smile that tugged upon her lips. That hint of amusement as she patted the white cloth, not much paler than her own skin. Her tone collected regardless as she answered. "I was not sure just what to expect tonight. So I bought it along, just in case."

There was a potent pause here. Not awkward, but certain tinged with a sort of discomfort before she continued on. "I don't suppose my father has spoken to you about any of this? I can't imagine he would be very pleased."

The door slid open by itself, showing him none other than Weiss Schnee standing outside his office. And… was that a pillow she was carrying? Curiouser and curiouser.

Her head held high as she stepped in, threading lightly, far too lightly, over to the desk. Her land placed feather light against the back of the chair opposing Opzin’s own as she took a breath.

The door behind slide close as she spoke. A reply of surface things the way she always did when asked such a question.

“I’m doing well. I’ve kept up my grades.” Ozpin would already know that. “I’m on top of my work.” He would know that too. A pause here, her grip on her pillow tightening before she continued.
