Snowboarding close to SC
Most people think since we are in South Carolina, there aren't viable options to go skiing or snowboarding near us. Well they would be wrong as there are a handful in North Carolina such as Beech, Sugar, and Cataloochee Ski Resorts. These three resorts are all under 4 hours from Columbia, or even shorter if you live in the upstate. Ski/snowboard lift tickets typically cost around $60 for a weekday and about $100 for a weekend or holiday. Most ski resorts in North Carolina are great for beginner and intermediate level riders while really experienced rider might get bored. If that happens to you, I have the perfect place for you! Snowshoe Ski Resort in West Virginia is one of the best, closest ski resorts to South Carolina. Snowshoe will have more to do outside of skiing/snowboarding like shops and restaurants than the smaller ski resorts in North Carolina. Regardless of what resort you go to, keep in mind all the things we talked bout-AND don't be afraid to test your limits.
