SnapBack History

While no one knows exactly where the snapback cap originated, it is quite obvious how they gained their popularity over the decades. Athletes are known to have been some of the first to wear the snapback hat. The early to mid 1900′s are where most historians would place the evolution of the snapback cap, with many baseball teams requiring them to be worn as part of their uniforms.

Today, many of those old ball caps are placed in museums and also may go for a very steep price on the market today. Collectors often purchase older snapback caps worn by Hall of Fame baseball players and add them to their memorabilia collections.

Even more popular today is the integration of a new snapback to ones fashion or collection. Many fashion enthusiasts collect throwback snapbacks and add them to their collection of apparel and accessories.
