i like to think that in spite of jay's willingness to make the occasional snarky comment about buck's grades, criminal history, cleanliness, football skills, etc., he'll never stoop as low as to poke fun at buck's lack of biological parents, especially because jay himself has a rocky relationship when it comes to parents and family.
i also like to think that that's why buck doesn't mind having jay around. 'cause he can roll with whatever verbal punches jay wants to send his way, since they never hit his most vulnerable spot.
and furthermore, i like to think that as much as jay likes to tease and irritate buck, if anyone ever says as much as a word about buck's criminal record or family situation, jay steps up to tell them off.

Rodney definitely swears, right? I get the joke that he only used words like “dweeb” and “twerp” and whatever, but some people use this as evidence to say that he’s not a threatening or even very “evil” antagonist? That he’s just a complete joke? Like— you people do realize that’s only the case cause the characters CAN’T swear. There’s evidence of him using language the show doesn’t dare to utter, and he’s not the only one. Surely those are actual swear words? Rodney is also the character who has threatened real genuinely horrific violence against kids and adults, nearly killing a man by accident and helping Saul frame Christians and send them to their deaths in the imagination station, framing Tom trying to ruin his life with no remorse, and in the banned episode he’s in— practically trying to give a kid an eating disorder. He does this and we think he’s above swearing? I don’t get it 😂.
ok so I don’t what yall think but, Jay is rich right??
and I don’t mean this in a “he’s my favorite character I’m giving him the world” I mean this in a - realistically, he’s rich. Because we know the his dad is a scientist and his mom is a heart surgeon. Also, with the prep school the issue was Jay’s ideas didn’t line up; not money. And they have the finances to support his acting travels and aspirations along with his collections for his hyper fixations (Elvis & Captain Spiff). Side note he is an only child and his dad knows the collection obsession (the baseball card thing) Also adding that this is Midwest based. Which means any family with a lawyer or doctor is certainly rich.

ok so this might sound extremely random but I remember there being an episode that Rodney like hung a kid in a tree???? Like Connie walks out of Whits End and there’s a kid in a tree and Connie asks what happened and he said Rodney put him up there. 😭🥀 I have no idea if this actually happened or if it was actually Rodney.

I need to know more about Butch. Genuinely. He had some of the wildest character growth of any character in the show despite only being in about 6 episodes. He went from Sam’s best friend, to a Bone of Rath, to an Israelite spy, to a gambling addict with regret. How?
We don’t know.
And I hate that.
Also something interesting is that despite Lucy refusing to call him Butch initially when he joins the Bones, her and EVERYONE else does so continuously even after he’s no longer a member. This is such an interesting detail to me that really does a good job at showing his inner conflict between wanting to be good vs wanting to be bad without directly stating it. Brian became Butch and then couldn’t let him go, even after everything.
okay so i get why this happens for storytelling purposes, but it lowkey irritates me how often odyssey characters are like "computer, end program" or "imagination station, stop" and the programs just . . . don't listen. sorry mr whittaker, but that seems like a major design flaw imo.
