I do find it interesting how many European TERF's are claiming that transness and trans inclusive feminism are just American brainrot "invading" their countries, and that trans people only exist in their countries because of too much exposure to American social media "tainting" their minds, despite the world's first gender clinics being in Europe.
Likewise I find it very interesting how many Europeans (that lean towards being at least a little accepting of trans people) are claiming that their countries are perfectly progressive utopias of trans acceptance and it's only those backwards barbaric Americans who are transphobic despite the history many European countries have of forcibly sterilizing trans people. With a quick google search you can see that until very recently Finland, a country usually hailed as being progressive and liberal, still had a policy of forcibly sterilizing trans people.
I've been increasingly seeing with debates around the legality of sex work too.
Europeans who are pro sex work will make sweeping generalizations about all Americans being uptight prudes who are anti sex work and hate sex workers.
But then so many European TERFs will actually say with their full fucking chests "American feminists are the only feminists in the whole world who think sex work is feminist and empowering, there are no feminists outside of the U.S. who think sex work is empowering or want to legalize it. Anyone who is pro sex work in our country has just been poisoned by too much exposure to American social media."
Make it make sense.
