Like, I am one of the luckiest (white, mostly able bodied, employed, partnered with an extensive support network and supportive family, etc) trans fems alive, and this shit still happens to me.
There's a woman that works in my office building who takes photos of me in the elevator weekly. She followed me to my car and took pictures of my license plate before screaming "faggot" at me over and over as she drove along beside my car. I've reported her to my boss, and to building security, and nothing is going to be done.
I have people stand in my way and stare me down in restaurant doorways. I get shoulder checked regularly at the grocery store, regardless of whether my partners are with me, so they walk on either side of me now, and it still happens when they have to step away to grab something. I've been tripped on light rail platforms.
I don't get nearly the harassment or hate many of my sisters do, but it's still crushing. I don't take transit in my city because I've been physically threatened so consistently. I avoid grocery shopping alone when possible.
All of this isn't even getting into shit people I know have said to and about me, things people have yelled from across the street, transmisogynistic questions or statements I get from coworkers "I'm all for trans rights, people should leave you the hell alone, but you shouldn't be shoving it in kids' faces."
It's hard out here for a bitch.
