Rumi :) Had so much fun painting a portrait again! Really loved adding the little glitter details and the texture in the eyes! Hope you like it ^^
why r callouts always like "please dont harass this person and dont go after them. anyway heres every single detail of their life gathered by stalking and their private profiles for all to see"
"please don't go after this person! now let me post this document for every single one of my followers and list every single one of their usernames"
Jane and Lizzie are such interesting foils to each other. Jane is often portrayed as being foolishly optimistic. Lizzie seems wiser for seeing the flaws in people. But there's something sad about Lizzie's cynicism. It turns her against people and nearly turns her against marriage entirely--she can't believe that there's anyone good enough for her. And there's something wise about Jane's optimism. Yes, she gets hurt when she refuses to see other people's flaws--but sometimes, she's right to believe the best of people. She's the only person who wasn't swayed by the negative prejudice against Darcy, the only person wise enough to see that there might be more to the story than Wickham told.
Lizzie thinks her cynicism makes her smarter than Jane--but then it turns out that that her judgements were just as wrong. She blinded herself to the truth just as much as Jane did. Jane believed people were better than they are, Lizzie believed they were worse than they are. This didn't mean Lizzie was smarter--it just made her crueler and more miserable. Jane takes optimism and kindness to the extreme, but Lizzie still has a lot to learn from her. Giving people the benefit of the doubt, believing in their goodness, instead of assuming that she sees and knows the true flaws of people's characters, can make her a wiser and better person.
Lydia is a lesson for Lizzie in the other direction. Lizzie thinks herself better than her sister, but it turns out they have a lot of the same flaws. Lydia is lively and high-spirited--so is Lizzie. They both admire Wickham and are blinded to his faults. After learning the truth about Wickham, Lizzie realizes that Lydia expresses a lot of the same thoughts that Lizzie had once held, and thought herself wise for holding! If Lydia's faults were restrained, she could become a lot like Lizzie, but Lizzie's faults meant she was more like Lydia than she realized.
Darcy's letter is the turning point that makes Lizzie reevaluate herself and her sisters. She had prided herself on judging people more harshly than Jane did--Darcy's revelation of the truth taught her she should be kinder. She had been content to laugh at Lydia's foolishness--Darcy's revelation of how they're perceived taught her to care. In comparing herself to her sisters, Lizzie no longer perceives only their flaws, but her own. Jane and Lydia serve as examples that can inspire Lizzie to be better, and warn her against becoming worse.

Herding sheep, looking after kids, and playing healer in videogames: every day you're surprised of the sheer innovative genius of how they'll find the most inconvenient goddamn places just outside your reach to get hurt or put themselves in lethal danger.
Isn’t this sheep in real life?
Children in real life also.
It. It literally did. That was literally precisely the point.
I have no idea how the hell I could possibly express myself more clearly.
The humble Oxford comma
IT'S LITERALLY RIGHT THERE.
Tumblr will never beat the pissing on the poor allegations
"They were a good person with good intentions and strong convictions and belief in doing the right thing. And because of that they deeply hurt people including people they were trying to protect" - is fantastic characterisation that too many people reduce to only one half of the equation
"They were a good person and people still died because they didn't put trust in anyone else" ← is so fucking good but people don't fucking appreciate it
"They were a good person and they failed. Over and over again. They failed." ← DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND HOW DELICIOUS THAT IS!?!?
I am on my hands and knees begging people to allow characters to be complex and flawed and not reduced down to "The Good Guy" and "The Bad Guy"
oh log we’re really in it now

every time someone says “look how they’re looking at each other! they’re in love!” about a non-canon ship i just think of the kuleshov effect for a second but then i come to my senses and decide to have fun
ok i’m going to explain the kuleshov effect because im a film student and its fascinating to me. basically its the principle of film storytelling that states that you can juxtapose a blank expression with an image and the audience will read a different emotion from the expression depending on the juxtaposed image. its incredibly interesting to me.
god prev fucking thank you . jesus . i didn’t have the energy to put it into words
My sad doomed ship T_T
