Bedtime Bear made me trans lol

For what’s not written on the image, I’ve noticed that the heart paw pads have the same grainy texture the white bits on their design have!! I think the bears’ cheek marks also have this texture, but I haven’t been able to see if it’s all of them or not yet (can’t get high enough quality screenshots and there aren’t enough close ups 💔 it really might be all of them though!)

Another detail we can see in this screenshot is, any props the bears interact with (outfits, items, etc) are all lineless and have a bit of a painterly style to them, featuring a variety of shading and texturing not seen on the bear rigs themselves :0 It’s worth it to study these and the backgrounds alike, since they share the same style!

For expressions, the bears don’t push their expressions as much as the bad crowd does, but when they do get expressive they usually just elongate their brows a bit and add some wrinkles!! Commonly to the brows and the under eye, sometimes to the edges of the mouth, depends on the expression. You can never go wrong with some wrinkles!!

On the other hand, the promo art style doesn’t ever get as expressive as the show, as it’s more for corporate purposes like marketing and merchandising, so it’s good to keep in mind when wanting to replicate promo art! Think like businessmen basically LMAO (doesn’t mean you can’t make it fun, tho!! Something about restrictions breeding innovation or something…I don’t remember lol idk get creative)

I highly recommend everyone do their own style studies!! Trace over or redraw official art so you can more easily see the way the style works, and work off from there onto your own works!

Personally I redrew a bunch of screenshots to get a feel for the style and all the details before working on the study (ᵔᴥᵔ) these are from December, so with constant practice and referencing I managed to improve from these initial sketches to the way I draw now!! I’ve still got a bit to improve tho (￣(工)￣)
