it's gloria focused and it deals with the hippo girls (from mada2) pointing out Gloria's obvious crush on melman, and they help her realize that it's ok to like sm1 that's a different species and nobody really gaf bc when she was younger her classmates would tell her it was weird so she suppressed her feelings for years

it's kind of a projection for when i was bullied for liking girls but I figured out that it's ok to be gay

Levi's species was always hunted for sport in the culture of [REDACTED], and his parents were killed off as a result of. Not just his parents however, for at the time of Levi's birth, the town had hunted out the species to near extinction. Only Levi and a few others were left.

Despite the decline of population in the species, the town of [REDACTED] still wanted to hunt the creatures. (Similar to how in the Lorax movie, people still wanted Thneeds even when the last tree was cut down, resulting in the company's bankruptcy)

The species of these creatures are social beings and rely on each other to survive. Since Levi had no one... and happened to be born closer to the town than what was normal, Levi went to the people as parental figures. He did not know of the danger of the humans, since he had no one to teach him that.

Since he was still a young child, he went to the townschildren first. Luckily, the children did not attempt to kill him. Instead, they laughed at him and scared him back into the forest. This happened often and many times over the years.

Levi had always admired Leviathan, the mayor's son. To him, Leviathan was the leader of the pack, someone to be trusted, someone who was mature and righteous.

He worked up the courage one day to approach Leviathan, who was t the time an older teenager. Levi had hoped that this time, maybe this time, someone in this town would be his friend.

Levi was right about one thing, the mayor's son was not like the other children. Instead of laughing at him or trying to scare him off...

Leviathan attempted to kill the creature.

The human boy was quick to grab his musket and began to do exactly what his father taught him to do. Shoot.

Levi was not so lucky this time. One bullet went through his forearm, another hurt his leg. He ran into the woods like he always did, but Levi barely made it out alive.

Levi had to contemplate everything. He so desperately wanted a friend, someone who cared about him. It was ingrained into his subconscious.

Yet, look where it got him. Injured, hopeless, almost dead. He could faintly hear Leviathan calling for his father.

"Father, I got one! I hit it!" "Wonderful work, Leviathan! Where'd he go?" "This way, father!"

Was this really it? All of these efforts, all of those years, all of that time - just to being taken as a trophy? By the one he admired most?

Levi's natural instinct flared - the one that every animal has that strays it away from danger.

He ran.

He ran as far as his body would let him. Levi went into the woods and headed northeast. Northeast would lead him to a lake untouched by the people of [REDACTED].

At that lake, Levi rested and tried to make the gunshot wounds hurt less. He was exhausted, and he knew that the townsfolk never come around the northeastern side of the land. He was safe here. No one should see him here—

There was someone there.

To his right, near the large moss-covered stones, there was a woman. Levi did not recognize this woman. She had green hair and different clothes from the townsfolk of [REDACTED]. She was looking directly at Levi, and began to walk towards him.

Levi wanted to run, but his leg and arm were still injured. He didn't know how to defend himself, so he clung onto luck and his past hopes.

The green-haired woman studied him, finding him peculiar, before speaking.

"Are you hurt?"

Levi couldn't answer, even if he wanted to. But he understood her. He felt the concern in her voice. He felt the pleasant warmth of being cared for.

Even if she was strange, she was the first person in the world to care about him.

The process of being taken into the woman's home was strange, just like her. After the resident nurse patched him up and he was given clothes, Levi took the time to explore.

The home itself was strange, as well as its' residents. There were monsters that were tall and fearsome like him, regular people with gentle eyes and common features like the humans that lived in [REDACTED], and other creatures that he couldn't even recognize.

And yet, none of them were scared of him. None of them laughed or tried shooing him off like a pest. And definitely none of them tried killing him.

A normal person would want to run away as far as they could from this place. Someone with a life before this weird house would ask others for the way out. Someone with friends and family would break rule after rule just for that sliver of escape... or at least the thought of it.

Levi wasn't given a choice regardless if he wanted to leave or not, just like every other member of this strange family.

But Levi never looked back, the glimmer in his eye never fading since then.
