- (June 1978) Dahmer was driving to a place he could dispose of Steven Hicks’ remains when he was pulled over by police for drifting over the center line. They noticed the trash bags in the back seat but didn’t ask to look inside them.

- (While Jeff was still living at Grandma’s) Lionel once looked into trash bags that had a foul odor and asked Jeff about them; he gave an excuse about dissecting roadkill, but the bags contained human remains.

- (September 1988) Police searched Dahmer’s apartment after his arrest for taking photos of the older Sinthasomphone boy. Richard Guerrero’s skull was in a drawer, and Jeff was waiting in jail for six days thinking they would confront him with this fact, but they had missed it.

- (March 1989) Lionel came across a locked metal and wood box at Catherine Dahmer’s house, and Lionel insisted that Jeff open it to show him what was inside. Jeff refused to, because it contained the preserved head and genitals of Anthony Sears. Jeff left the house angrily, Lionel took the box to the basement and was about to pry it open when Jeff returned and told him there was pornographic material inside and that he would open it up the next day. Lionel agreed with this plan, and Jeff switched out the body parts for pornographic literature to reveal to his dad.

- (late March 1989-May 1990) Dahmer kept Anthony Sears’ skull, painted gray, in his work locker until he moved into the Oxford Apartments. His locker was once searched and the skull was found, but the investigators thought it was fake.

- (May 1991) After a murder on the third floor of the Oxford Apartments (Jeff lived on the second floor), police interviewed the tenants. They came into Jeff’s apartment and asked if they could look around; he consented and yet they didn’t look around. If they had looked in his bedroom they would’ve seen the dead body that was laying on the bed. The third floor murder was discovered May 3, 1991, so the body was either Tony Hughes or Konerak Sinthasomphone.
