Happy Odaiba memorial day to all my fellow digidestined all around the world!

How are you all gonna spend this day? My summer vacation finally started and I can't wait to use some of my free time to draw! I really hope to keep this blog a bit more active, the past months had been so tough. Even if I really had a few time, I wanted to make a new art for this special day, and I got inspired by a new series of figures of the original digidestined (Yeah, I kinda wished a Miyako one existed) and here it is! I often get a lot of inspiration from the official art and merch. Drawing this one thought, I realised I had never draw Miyako with her amazing digiworld outfit before... and isn't this the perfect day for this outfit?!

This year I couldn't finish any fanfic, but I bring you our beautiful boy through time:

I let my inner child draw something tonight. He had been begging to draw a Digimon for a while now and I just was not listening.

I used to love drawing and I drew all of the time. After a while, I started surrounding myself with really artistic people, which I thought was great, but in the end, the feedback I received from them (including my father, my art teacher, and my (at the time) best friend) when I showed them my art left me discouraged. That wasn't their fault, of course, but I took it pretty hard.

I gave up on art after that because I honestly felt like I was not good at it. It didn't even matter that I liked drawing or that it made me feel really happy. No matter how proud I was of my work or how hard I worked, it just could not gain their approval or praise.

Fast forward to now, about 15~ years later. I have an amazingly artistically talented husband and best friend and both are wonderfully supportive of my art. More importantly, I am letting myself work on art, even if what I make is enjoyable to no one but myself.

I want to take back the artistic time I lost and make wonderful art in a way only I can.

Anyways...

This costume is ten years old. I made it in 2016. It's really held up!

I also found some kind of new Digimon. It's some kind of reptile? I'm curious about what it'll Digivolve into. Pretty cute!

Happy Odaiba Day! Guess who played Anode/Cathode Tamer a few months ago and fell down in a pit of despair with the pain that comes from HINDSIGHT at seeing those lines play out near the end?

I had been waiting a bit to see when I would get the chance to draw something related to it (or to Ryo once I finished all the games, I'm taking a break currently)--but Odaiba Day was coming and I realized, I can just--draw it for today!

Still trying to avoid drawing 8 kids and 8 Digimon, woe upon me
