the days are long.

you ever come across someone who is the spitting image of perfection? who can look at you even in their worst mood, and somehow calm every single storm that’s ever rattled your foundation, purely because they exist right alongside you.

and they can tell you every single day about how much of a fucked up stupid mess they are but that won’t make you believe it. you can’t even begin to comprehend how both of you are talking about the same human. and no matter how often you hear them talk bad about themselves it never stops burning your eardrums like acid. you’d try to explain but they might not understand why. but you understand that you can’t change a chemical imbalance inside a brain that isn’t yours but don’t you wish chemistry was your thing. then again, that wouldn’t make a difference anyway. remind yourself that they can still love that you think they’re the best but they can’t stand to look in a mirror some days.

-you can tell an absolutely perfect person how exquisite they really are but that doesn’t mean they will believe you. and that’s okay. but you are truly fucking exquisite.
