We forget all too soon the things we thought we could never forget. We forget the loves and betrayals alike, forget what we whispered and we screamed, forget who we were.

January - July, 2025⏳🎞️🕯️
Everything, even herself, was now unbearable to her. She wished that, taking wing like a bird, she could fly somewhere, far away to regions of purity, and there grow young again.

2022, the year of self doubt and self discovery.
Slow down you're doing fine
You can't be everything you want to be before your time
Although it's so romantic on the borderline tonight
...
You got your passion, you got your pride
But don't you know that only fools are satisfied?
Dream on, but don't imagine they'll all come true
When will you realize, Vienna waits for you?
I should get on with Compilers RIC now.
Signing off.
These days I find myself thinking how much one has to unlearn in order to learn a higher form of truth. And then again unlearn to learn something more deeper, it's an infinite loop of learning and unlearning. Through this act, discovery of the world is of course made but concurrently, the discovery of oneself is also made and you realise how both affect each other, balance each other.
This playlist pretty much describe these emotions. Fun fact, listened to this during IEEE754 Floating point questions, the time somehow did not seem like a million years by the time i finished :)

Praying for all the souls who are most impacted in this horrible war. Needless to say, history doesn't exactly repeat but it sure does rhyme from time to time.
Here's something that made me smile amidst all this vitriol surrounding us:
Today during class, one my college professors asked us a question to which no one had the answer to, he smiled and told us that he "won't be too hard on us... because ( after a whole 10 seconds of silence, just his usual way of giving a dramatic flare ) nature has been hard on all of us" and continued on.
And that, i thought was a very kind way of connecting with students in this new world where we are all trying to heal together. So even though everyone has fought their own battles during this pandemic, you and i still exist and have to build a beautiful life together. Reminds me of Whitman's quote, "That the powerful play goes on, and you may contribute a verse."
"Three passions, simple but overwhelmingly strong, have governed my life: the longing for love, the search for knowledge, and unbearable pity for the suffering of mankind. These passions, like great winds, have blown me hither and thither, in a wayward course, over a great ocean of anguish, reaching to the very verge of despair." -Bertrand Russell
"The point of my keeping a notebook has never been, nor is it now, to have an accurate factual record of what I have been doing or thinking. That would be a different impulse entirely, an instinct for reality which I sometimes envy but do not possess." -Joan Didion
petition for Spotify introducing a song sharing room. no text messages. no pictures - just melodies and playlists one discovered through friends or tumblr or their weekly discovered and now can’t possibly keep the excitement to themselves because how can a playlist titled the bones of gods burn black have just 3 likes. more people need to hear it. period.
There's a time for everyone, if they only learn
That the twisting kaleidoscope, moves us all in turn
There's a rhyme and reason, to the wild outdoors
When the heart of this star-crossed voyager
Beats in time with yours
And can you feel the love tonight? 🎶
-Elton John

Please don’t make the mistake of thinking the arts and sciences are at odds with one another. That is a recent, stupid, and damaging idea. You don’t have to be unscientific to make beautiful art, to write beautiful things.
If you need proof: Twain, Adams, Vonnegut, McEwen, Sagan, Shakespeare, Dickens. For a start.
You don’t need to be superstitious to be a poet. You don’t need to hate GM technology to care about the beauty of the planet. You don’t have to claim a soul to promote compassion.
Science is not a body of knowledge nor a system of belief; it is just a term which describes humankind’s incremental acquisition of understanding through observation. Science is awesome.
The Arts and Sciences need to work together to improve how knowledge is communicated.
-Tim Minchin

being on tumblr is just so cozy... you know what i mean? instagram and twitter are all flashy and loud but tumblr is as cozy as my bedroom with scented candles on a cold November night
“The best thing for being sad," replied Merlin, beginning to puff and blow, "is to learn something. That's the only thing that never fails. You may grow old and trembling in your anatomies, you may lie awake at night listening to the disorder of your veins, you may miss your only love, you may see the world about you devastated by evil lunatics, or know your honour trampled in the sewers of baser minds. There is only one thing for it then — to learn. Learn why the world wags and what wags it. That is the only thing which the mind can never exhaust, never alienate, never be tortured by, never fear or distrust, and never dream of regretting. Learning is the only thing for you. Look what a lot of things there are to learn.”
-The once and future king, T. H. White
