^^^This is all true, the cases they got against them in Haiti alone is shameful.
They are far, far, FAR from perfect, but they are the best hope we have of avoiding another dark age of chaos and war. International law must be strengthened or our race is doomed. This does not mean UN soldiers or bureaucrats should not be made accountable. But it does mean we owe it to our species and our planet not to give up on the project. It's the best we've got.
Today is Farmersâ Day in Ghana.
It is a national holiday. I want to join the millions of voices of fellow Ghanaians and other citizens of the world, to thank the hard working people who make sure we all get food to eat.
Hopefully someday, the African farmer will get true value for all their hard work.

The more I learned about vaccination and how it works, and what mass vaccination is meant to do and why we use it, the more kind of beautiful I found it, actually, in terms of being actually counter-capitalist in its ethos. Hereâs a system thatâs based on people voluntarily using their bodies to protect other vulnerable people. I just think thatâs very different than a lot of what we see in this competitive, mercenary space of capitalism.

Translating Male Speech Patterns

I wanted to know more about the victims of todayâs horrifying massacre, and since the mediaâs information wasnât quite specific enough, I took to Facebook to look for them.
What I found was this playful, innocent status written by a student of Peshawarâs Army Public school. You can just tell how much these kids loved being at school.
Mubeen Shah, the boy at the end, uploaded his cover photo a while back with this quote: âWe are a nation of beauty and great grief. Our smiles are much stronger than your guns.â
Mubeen and his other three friends in this picture were all killed by the Taliban today.
And, as much as I want to, I donât know how to look at these kids and tell them to âRest in Peaceâ
Because how can they âRest in Peaceâ when every article covering their massacre is riddled by Islamophobic comments?
How can they âRest in Peaceâ when they, the victims, are categorized alongside their oppressors?
You do not have to be any particular religion or political party to mourn alongside Pakistan today. Muslim, Christian, Democrat, Republican: it doesnât matter. All you have to be is awake.
#AliveWhileBlack is the heartbreaking response to #CrimingWhileWhite
The hashtag #CrimingWhileWhite became a platform to illustrate what often happens when white people engage in criminal activity. It was a powerful moment, as white people openly acknowledged that they donât face nearly the same punishment or brutality experienced by their black counterparts. But despite the good intentions of those who participated, many others felt like the hashtag detracted from conversations about the value of black lives.
In response to that first trending hashtag, Jamilah Lemieux, senior digital editor for Ebony magazine, started #AliveWhileBlack.
