To our dear members, After a long discussion between the admins, we're afraid that the time has come for Skeletal to close. There is no reason except that we think that we have already had an amazing run together -- alas, everything must come to an end. We would like to thank you sincerely for staying as long as you have with us. We have met great people with unique and lovely muses, and we will never forget each one of you. For those on hiatus, we are sorry to greet you back with this message. For those who are still with us, we are sorry that we cannot continue managing the roleplay group anymore, as it has become a strain more than something enjoyable for us. The pressure to retain interest and movement with our plot is truly great as we always want to keep our members happy. If you wish, you are free to stay within our dashboard to write and our ooc blog will always be open for your messages. Thank you again for giving us happy memories and for building a community with us. You are all amazing writers and we hope to see you around. Always with you, Admin D PS: I've envisioned that the Skeletons will make it on the other side, wherever that may be. Thank you again. Your time and effort made managing this roleplay fruitful and fulfilling.

Enhanced strength â she is inhumanly strong, having an incredible ability to defy weight limitations, but not completely break them. Dense, lengthy, or overweight items are easy to move and simple to use in nearly any manner. She can also crush, lift, throw, or catch items of great weight.
Enhanced agility - she can go from one motion to another effortlessly, effectively dodge attacks, swing from things easily, sprint, do back-flips and numerous other gymnastic, athletic and martial implements with little effort. This allows her to change her bodyâs position efficiently, and requires the integration of isolated movement skills using a combination of balance, bodily coordination, speed, reflexes, strength and endurance.
Bloodlust â she can project an aura of killing intent and bloodlust, including aggression and brutality, causing others to become brutal and hurtful towards others, even if it means causing that person to kill others. Her own bloodlust further augments her enhanced strength and agility. In humans, it can give them greater strength and agility, but they can only focus on killing others, with no hold on their own thoughts or feelings.
WEAKNESSES
Durability â her strength is augmented to a great degree, but not to the extent of superhuman strength. Strength for her does not mean durability, and if she were to overexert herself by, for example, lifting something extremely heavy over herself, she would still be hurt by it falling or her bone or joints could potentially break. Her joints will also receive extreme strain from her enhanced agility.
Stamina â as someone with enhanced strength and agility, Wheein thus tires easily, easier than most skeletons as her stamina is quickly used up. This means her battles must be short and quick for her to decisively win, and she will have to rest for a while to return to peak condition.
Bloodlust â this ability also affects her; while it makes her stronger and more alert, in extremes Wheein can be driven into a frenzy and cannot control herself. She may become confused and slower after such episodes, and unable to perform at peak condition.
BIOGRAPHY.
the beginning â ahn hyejin
Hyejinâs parents had been simple civilians, safe enough to feel secure about having a child. There were few families around, not in these times, and even fewer children her age. Her father was a farmer; they had hens that went mad cackling and crowing when their eggs were taken, and four pigs. The pigs were what she remembered most vividly in her fatherâs farm; they shrieked with a sound that made her teeth feel like falling out when they were slaughtered for meat. Her father was an alcoholic, beer far easier to get than clean water. She remembered the sound the pigs made, the sound her mother made in the end, when her father finally tipped himself over the edge. She left then, moving to a small nook near the medical area, finding safety near the hospital away from her father.
Her new home brought her a new friend. Jung Wheein, she had called herself. She was the same age as Hyejin, albeit born a little earlier. Together their dreams touched the sky, inspired by the old books and snippets of how life had been before the war. Theyâd imagine themselves the celebrities they found in the torn pages of glossy magazines smuggled in by the most desperate of patients as payment, the people decked out in gold and velvet in front of houses big enough to fit the entire country. Wheeinâs parents were medics, the best kind of people. They taught them to treat cuts and scrapes, then moved on to stiches and broken bones, making them part of the hospital. Wheein was always better than her at treating the injured; she took pride in that, in her friend, so kind and brave and talented.
First loves are always giddy; theirâs was the same. Stolen kisses in the medicine room and late nights talking about what theyâd do, once the war was over. Wheein wanted a small house, one of those cosy ones tucked away in the corner of nature. Sheâd laugh at Hyejin, teasing her. âWhat will you do with all that extra space?â Sheâd ask, because a big house like those on the contraband never seemed practical to her. Still, Hyejin wished for a house like that â a house big enough for them to run around and enjoy, so big theyâd take days to find the doorway and never ever feel trapped.
Wheein smiled less and less as the days went by, tending to the desperate and injured. Her parents would leave, initially once every few months, then increasingly often, twice or thrice a month, weekly, almost daily⌠Hyejin had heard of drug smugglers, knew what they did â the drugs in the hospital came from them, mostly. From Wheeinâs parents. The day they didnât come back, she thought, was the day Wheein stopped smiling. They took over her parentsâ place in the hospital, nursing people back to life, even though they themselves were dying inside.
It was her fault in the end, she supposed. The hospital had run out of most of their drugs trying to treat the injuries of the last rampage of the South Korean bastards. There were almost fifteen people still alive, all needing medical attention. The government only cared about the rich and wealthy; they were neither. There was only one solution, if they wanted to save everybody. They left, Wheein with her fatherâs gun and Hyejin, a hunting knife sheâd stolen. They were frightened, half-exhilarated at their façade of freedom.
The first few houses they found had nothing, stripped clean of anything useful. There were far fewer soldiers than they had expected, but enough that they had to be careful, checking for them every step of the way. The next few houses they found, further away from the border, turned up a couple of painkillers and some bandages. It was better than nothing, she supposed.
The trek back was easier, the terrain more familiar â it was impossible to decide whose fault it was. Herâs, for not checking the area completely, or Wheeinâs, for just freezing in shock when the soldier grabbed her shoulder. Hyejinâs knife had been in her bag, so she punched the man off instead, recklessly brave, but couldnât move fast enough to avoid the bullet sinking into straight into her chest. Wheein turned around then, emptying ten clips into him, screaming. There wasnât anything Hyejin could do but pull her jacket closer and laugh, helplessly.
They walked back to the border in silence, her vision blurring. She felt strange. She knew Wheein was crying, gun still in her hand, the distance between them the most it had ever been, even with their clasped hands. The walls were in sight now, and Hyejin was moving slower and slower. Wheein turned, then, and hugged her close. âI love you,â sheâd whispered. âI love you.â
the middle - jung wheein
The first thing she does is apply for the programme. She doesnât know what she expects, but she knows she will destroy South Korea, all of it, raze it to the ground and soak it red. Glory is convenient, but itâs bloodlust that drives her. Wheein is one of the few who take to the programme easily when it first begins, and she helps the others when theyâre hurt. Tries to comfort them, build poultices from scraps and bandages from clothes. Each time she does, the scientists put her in solitary, but any torture they try to throw at her only hardens her further â or so she thinks, until the fighting begins.
They fight, oh, they fight. The scientists note her additional strength and agility, amused by the dichotomy of a girl who is strong beyond belief but refuses to hurt her fellow volunteers. Then amusement turns to annoyance, to anger. She weeps for each person she has to fight against, angry at herself and them. She did not join to ruin her countrymen. They put her in solitary confinement each time she refuses to fight, even as she grows stronger, faster, and they realise torture is the strongest when it is dealt by herself instead. Grief and guilt are a corrosive mix, eating away at her, dulling her humanity. Wheein stays away from people, refuses to help, tells herself that it will make what she does that much easier. The days are long by herself, each day the same struggle to just stay alive. Eventually she learns how, even if she loses pieces of herself in doing so, her hardened heart crumbling away.
the end â jung wheein
When they escape, Wheein follows â her strength comes in handy. Bloodlust is a curious thing; itâs indiscriminate, destruction that doesnât differentiate between any side but her own survival. Her heart is in pieces but her bodyâs still intact, and she knows she will live.
PERSONALITY.
Wheein is not âgood personâ, not anymore. There used to be a time when she would run to the injured with medicine and makeshift bandages, but now she leaves them on the ground, puts them there. She wraps herself around her grief as tightly as she can, and pulls the soft blanket of carefreeness over her bloody body. The devil-may-care attitude keeps her safe, keeps people away from her. Her grief defines her; she thinks there would be no Jung Wheein if she let go of it now.
Sheâs more comfortable with being a follower â the others can lead, she doesnât care. Wheein takes pride in her strength, it cost her most of her humanity but at least sheâs not dead. Wary of being attached, she plays up her happy façade when dealing with the skeletons sheâs unfamiliar with. In another life, she thinks she would have been witty, maybe even funny, but this is the life she has and sheâs turned that into caustic remarks and sarcasm. Wheein is a collector, hoarding what she comes across. She stores not just what she can fashion into weapons but also the remnants of happiness she finds from others, pictures of loved ones and tarnished rings and scraps of a rag doll that might have once belonged to a child. She leaves these treasures behind when she goes, and surrounds herself with newfound trinkets of love in the next place.

Hello, children! We now gladly (and formally!) open plotting and writing for the much awaited HIGH SCHOOL CHRISTMAS AU starting today until 31st December, 2016.
Feel free to get creative with your muses! The AU setting has the Skeletons living in Seoul, South Korea, attending a high school together. Important points to remember:
A formal Christmas Dance will be held at the school premises
Students are to arrive in formal attire for the dance
There will be an afterparty held by the graduating class in one of the membersâ houses and/or a club (To be determined, feel free to suggest!)
Feel free to post on the OOC blog for more suggestions! The Christmas AU will end on New Yearâs Eve, KST.Â
OOC information:
To give way to this event, we will accept one mainverse reply and one AU reply as activity for the week. Two AU replies are not accepted as activity. You must have at least one mainverse post.
Please be reminded to prioritize mainverse plot drop threads.Â
For easier management of AU posts, please keep your replies relatively short (say one to two paragraphs long?). Short para replies are encouraged for AU movement.
We will also reblog holiday memes so stay tuned!
Tag all posts with sk: HS Christmas for easier reading.
We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars.
SKELETON: Deimos
FACE CLAIM NAME: Kang Younghyun / Day6
AGE: 22
ABILITIES:
Nightmare Manipulation: Powers relating to modifying, creating, observing, and sensing nightmares. Strong amounts of fear or terror can actually cause a victim to die. Â
Nightmare Walking
(+) The user can enter the nightmare of a victim
(-) In reality he has to be in a trance in order for him to walk through nightmares so he is very vulnerable to physical attacks. In a trance he still has a slight sense with the human world so he can be able to avoid attacks, although his relaxes are very much hindered. Itâs similar as to having muddled senses. He can only observe nightmares and not influence them. He can easily be pushed out of the nightmare, either by the victim waking up or spotting him and kicking him out.
Nightmare Sense
(+) The user can sense people nearby who are experiencing nightmares.
(+) It doesnât have to be a circular radius. He can force the power and point it in a certain direction to stretch it further.
(-) There is only a certain radius where he is able to use this power (0.5 mile). He also cannot control when he is using this power. It is constantly in use, which can be overwhelming.
Nightmare Inducement
(+) The user can turn a dream into a nightmare.
(+) When there is more fear he gains strength as he feeds off that fear.
(-) The victim has to have been dreaming before it can turn into a nightmare. He cannot enhance a nightmare. He also actually has to be sleeping in order to use this power.
Fear Manipulation: Powers relating to the emotion of fear/terror.
Fear Inducement
(+) The user can plant hallucinations and visions into a victim in order to induce fear. This can also enhance any feelings of fear that the victim may be having or have suppressed.
(-) Actually has to be quite close to the victim in order to use this power on them. For victims with stronger mental barriers he can break through them by physical touch, but he cannot break through too strong walls. He does not know what the victim is seeing. Â
(-) Weak weapon handling, slow healing factor (slower than a normal human), senses other than hearing are quite horrible, low stamina (cannot use his power for too long periods of time because of how taxing it can be), incredibly sensitive ears, strength (when fighting relies on technique and tricks rather than brute force) Â
Mental
(+) Strong mental strength
(-) Mind tends to wander at times
BIOGRAPHY.
ACT I, SCENE I
He was born to a family of eight children.
Younghyun was the fifth child, splitting himself between being a good big brother but also a good younger brother. There were boundaries that he couldnât overstep when he was in a position of being a good older brother as he couldnât risk insulting his older siblings. And around the younger ones Younghyun had to put on a whole different face. And as he continued this little balancing act of his, his parents watched on.
ACT I, SCENE II
They could tell that Younghyun was special.
And although others found him hard to read, his parents saw clear through him. He was seeing, questioning, and understanding things that the other children couldnât even dream of. He was hiding his strength. His mind was constantly at thought and his eyes took it all in as they analyzed every piece of information that came through them. It was most noticeable when he interacted with the other children. Interacting with them wasnât about building relationships, but an actor presenting himself to the audience. And although the audience loved him and ate him up while he was performing when the curtains closed and the applause and congratulations stopped Younghyun returned to his dressing room, empty and alone. And as time passed the show closed down and the actor was out of a job.
ACT I, SCENE III
They were simple farmers.
He was never the strongest physically. Maintaining a diet with the proper nutrients wasnât possible but Younghyun had always remained the smallest and thinnest among his siblings. It wasnât as if he didnât eat as much as his other siblings, Younghyun had a larger appetite than any of them, but it seemed his body couldnât take in nutrients well. When he was finally old enough to graduate from housework to tending to the field Younghyun couldnât pull his weight.
ACT I, SCENE IV
And as time passed the constant wars were impacting the family harshly.
Soldiers came constantly and took food and whatever they wished. As they came and demanded meals the family complied. Younghyun was always the ones that served them as everyone else was out working in the fields or gathering food. His mother cooked and he helped. The soldiers and military personnel that passed through all praised him; he had always had better people skills than his siblings. He always did exactly what the soldiers asked, and with a smile. The rest of his family held contempt, anger, and fear towards the soldiers and it was obvious to see. He had finally found his stage once again. They were forced to produce more and more on the land, draining the ground of nutrients without giving a chance to restore them. Soon they were producing barely enough food to feed their own family, let alone the constant wave of soldiers that passed through.
ACT I, SCENE V
It became a family of four.
Death was never an abstract concept. His parents went first. Food was always saved for him and his siblings. Their deaths were slow and painful, worked and starved to death. His older brothers left, off to join the military and hoped to bring back glory for their family and if they made it far enough up the ranks, possibly aid for the family. Older sisters left, married into better families, hoping that they would be able to provide for their shrinking family. Younghyun and the younger ones stayed.
ACT II, SCENE I
Younghyun dropped the little brother act. Â
Their land was desolate, destroyed. They would have to live off the surroundings. Wild game, fish, berries, plants and anything that was available in the surrounding area they ate. Trapping and gathering were specialties he had learned from his mother and those skills helped them survive. The family was no longer living, they were simply alive and they accepted that. They were happy to just be alive as long as they were together.
ACT II, SCENE II
The first winter came.
Food was hard to come by and they huddled together for warmth, bundled up in layers of rags next to the small fire that they could build. Younghyun ate the least, lying to his siblings because itâs what a big brother did after all and he was the best method actor there is.
ACT II, SCENE III
The soldiers came again.
They were harsher than the winter. They were vultures, swooping down and preying on the remains of the weak. Their family would not survive another attack. However, they extend their claws offering to help. He feels the eyes behind him. How they are filled with uncertainty and how heavy they are. He reaches out. The talons sink in. Blood is drawn. A contract is made.
ACT III, SCENE I
He adds new characters to his repertoire.
They call him Deimos, Skeleton, weapon, tool, experiment. He changes masks, changes characters for the situations that heâs forced into. He adapts and he learns. He builds up his defenses quickly and plentifully, but itâll never be enough.
ACT III, SCENE II
The grip gets tighter and cage remains closed.
He hears their whispers, but he never hears the words. They donât allow him to mingle with the others and there are those who take an interest in him. He remembers that man. He had metal on his clothes and wore glittering shoes. Younghyun is as loyal and as obedient as they come. And just like when he served that man in his home he did it with a smile.
ACT IV, SCENE I
They command him to hunt down the others.
He hesitates. And they show him a video of his family. Theyâre happy, smiling, healthy, and they thank Younghyun for what he did. He hears the words âI love youâ.
He speaks with a smile, âIt is my honor to serve the Great Leader.â
PERSONALITY.
When they first meet Younghyun there seems to already be red-alert symbol flashing all around. They tell you to stay away from him. He is not what he appears as. They call him Deimos, the god of terror, and although itâs not quite noticeable on the outside the air sends shivers down their back. âItâs that smile,â the whispers build, âheard someone sewed it into his face,â and there the rumors continue. From first glance it seems obvious that heâs hiding something, after all, nobody keeps such positivity after being recruited.
Younghyun is rarely serious or not smiling, which tends to get him involved in some tricky situations. Heâs chatty and always has a comment ready. And although they know that itâs a mask, that heâs hiding something under it all, they canât tell what. At times the positive attitude seems too authentic. There are few that speak of those incidents, those moments where he is quiet, contemplative, and closed off. But those are ones that just speak of legends, myths.
They call him crazy, delusional, charming, confident, cocky, stupid, a genius. They call him a mixed bag, reach inside and itâs not guaranteed what youâll get. There are those that try to get close, to try to peel back that mask and really see what kind of horrors he hides behind there. Friendship with Younghyun feels both authentic and like a farce. For now the box remains closed and status of the cat unknown, however, someday theyâll learn the true result of the experiment. Is the cat dead or alive? Or have they just unlocked Pandoraâs box?
