Ive decided I actually don't care if you don't want to hear my theory, you're going to hear it anyways. Okay hi sharks /ref. I'm going to tell you why I think Ashes and Blood hit song from Arcane is actually about Jayce and Viktor, despite playing over a scene of the sisters.
This could be interpreted two ways, in my opinion. This could, one, be talking about Jayce illegally keeping and experimenting with the Arcane crystals. It could also be talking about when he and Viktor first meet, when he's about to jump.
"Why would you let this voice set in your head" could be talking about determination to make this, or it could be literal, with the Hexcore being a Voice of some kind. It could also be talking about Sky Young. Regardless of the meaning of that line, it IS meant to destroy. Determination is dangerous if taken too far, the Hexcore can corrupt people and their thoughts, and an embodiment of guilt and humanity can ruin you.
Summoning storms is shown a few times in the show. First, when Viktor summons a spell to get Jayce and his mother out of the blizzard in the second episode, second when Ekko and Jayce irritate the Hexcore and it causes the entire world to buffer, and third when Jayce goes to see the alternative version of Piltover.
I think, "watch it hurt you," is specifically talking about Jayce's experience in the alternate universe. This is what you've done. This is what YOU created and it's your fault. It came for everyone else and now it's coming for you too. "Why would you want to shape the world in your hands," to me, is about Viktor and his need for control, especially later in the show. "You will never make it through" can both be about Viktor's illness and how he's tied directly to death (at the council room, when Jayce kills him, when they cease to exist).
I don't know the exact translations for the chanting, but it vaguely translates to "Beyond these walls the storm grows," which to me comes off as a warning. It's kind of reminiscent of Hemindinger, trying to warn the boys about what they're doing.
"The fire burning in your soul" could be talking about anger, particularly Viktor's. Talking about needing something to die to prevent the death of EVERYTHING is definitely talking about the Hexcore. You SAW what could happen to the world, should Jayce fail to kill his counterpart.
The first two lines in this verse, initially, reminded me of Piltover's original Council, but upon looking through the show again, I think it's actually talking about Viktor here. When he finally did get power, he felt the need to make everyone else share in it with him, and he shifted the game rules by avoiding death.
The two lines after this are also about Viktor, imo. Crossing the line that nobody else could may be talking about a few things. Their discovery and advancements in Hextech, Viktor curing/delaying his illness via magic, or transcending humanity. "Does it make you a God now" strikes me as talking about Viktor's "heavenly" form. Talking about sins being forgiven if they give in is definitely about the war.
The constant repetition of "ashes and blood" at the end could be Jayce thinking about everything he saw. How many people died, how many lives were taken, how many still COULD BE if he doesn't intervene. While it is just the chorus, I think it could also be Viktor's guilt.
ouuubhhhh..... this is so interesting actually. i love song analysis. thank yew for telling me all of this..........
