Among folks who comprise this Columbus, OH band are Adam Elliot of Times New Viking, Andy Hampel and Kevin Elliott (definite relation) of 84 Nash, and Dave Capaldi of El Jesus De Magico. There’s a fifth guy, Philip Kim, who is described as a “peach district laureate” in the...
read this review and then listen to this record. Â it is a spot on review.
18000 block broadway terrace
got out on a ride today. Â felt like a creaky door for a while. Â took my time, stopped when i felt like it. Â up moraga through to highland, sheridan, wildwood, st. james, etc. Â leimert to monterey to butters, up skyline. Â finally started feeling good when i was climbing up skyline. Â dropped down thornhill and decided to turn back up pinehaven. Â absolutely gorgeous. Â body wanted more hills and it got 'em. Â pinehaven isn't too bad but i forgot that i'd have to climb the last half of broadway terrace and part of tunnel.
cross bike soon enough.
Now, the Great Zucchini was eating toilet paper.
"I mean, are you that desperate?" she asked.
one of the best articles i have read in ages. Â seriously.

i might try and use this tumblr a bit for bicycle ride reports. Â
2/12/13, roughly 35 miles. Â rode from my house up moraga into montclair. felt really good on the climb. Â must have been all the mountain biking, but it felt like i was gliding up the hill. Â hooked a left on thornhill and rode up past the nursery. Â contemplated going up pinehaven but carried on up thornhill. Â really nice, not too bad at all. Â beautiful climbing up through all the trees and wooded houses. Â at one point i made a wrong turn and wound up going down armour which is a dead end. Â having already passed through a road paving site once (and not easily at that), i decided to hike up the little trail across the dead end through an open field/probably someone's backyard until the trail led me to another dead end. Â went up that real steep dead end towards what i presumed to be snake (i was right) and it turned out that both dead ends were armour and i still had to climb the last third of snake.
moral of the story: read your road signs or hike in road shoes.
from there, i hooked a right on skyline, went down redwood and up pinehurst. Â really nice down in canyon today. Â it's always nice in canyon. Â felt good on the all the descents, too - i seriously thinking riding off road has made me a much better road rider.Â
turned right at the top of pinehurst and ran into steve and his friend whose name i can't recall up near the top of snake. Â decided to ride with them the other direction back towards redwood for the company, then dropped down through butters and piedmont back home. Â descending mandana from the top where it switches from crocker is one of my favorites. Â wide and clear.
early spring is okay by me.
veronica falls "teenage"
i cannot emphasize how much i like this song. Â a lot of bands can try and do something like this, but veronica falls pulls it off flawlessly. Â also, far and away one of the best live shows i went to in 2012.
