This dieselpunk life pod kept Winston Churchill from dying mid-flight

By 1947, Winston Churchill was 73 years old, overweight, a profuse smoker, and had already suffered two heart attacks, less than ideal health conditions for a man who flew all over the world. So to keep Churchill in the air and among the living, a pressurized pod was designed for Churchill’s personal plane.

It looks like any other old photograph you might find at an estate sale, but the gentleman highlighted in the 2nd image is someone who’s never been seen in photographic form: Vincent Van Gogh! 

A pair of collectors found the image at an estate sale and brought it to a team of experts in France who verified that it really was the famous painter.
