The Emeritus name is not the only one of importance to the old one. Nihils fate was not the only one sealed that night. No in-fact the person who was responsible for getting them into that party was also sealing their own.

Ruth’s father is none other than Nihils friend.

Falling into the graces of the old one, for bringing Nihil that night, he was also blessed to be a cardinal and bishop under Nihils rule.

Also finding love that night ,he finds it in a dancer.

And ultimately conceiving Ruth. Making a fun and tragic parallel to Nihils and Imperators futures.

Ruth

Now Ruth is blessed with the easy understandings of magic. It all comes really easy to her. By the time she turned ten she could speak fluent Latin and ghoulish, much to the other cardinals dismay.

Because of her rampant development in her infernal studies, she becomes very disconnected with others her age. And even though she can outperform a lot of the seasoned cardinals and sisters, they all pretty much despise her for it.

This leads Ruth on a path of loneliness and seeing what she can get away with. She begins to perform riskier rituals without her father or mother’s consent. With every successful ritual it only lends her praise from her father and even the clergy. So she does the one thing that is forbidden for smaller churches to do. Summon a ghoul. And just like majority of rituals she’s done, it’s successful.

Kiln

Now Kiln is a fire ghoul, but is also a runt. That being said, they do not have a lot of their elemental capabilities because of this.

In the pit most runts do not live past infancy due to packs seeing them as dead weight. Kilns mother left their pack in order to help raise Kiln.

It was not easy for them. Without a pack made you easy pickings in the pit. Kilns mother made sure to toughen them up so they could survive on their own. Once Kiln could kill in their own, their mother left them behind while they slept. Kilns been alone ever since.

Being smaller and not having abilities like other ghouls made Kiln crafty. When approached by other packs they always underestimated them, shocked to even see a full grown runt. Kiln made sure to always play on their overconfidence. When it came to food, they always stole from packs. It was safer that way. Until they stole from the wrong pack.( these leads to some HISTORY with Alpha)

When Kiln is ripped from the pit, they’re kind of insulted to see they were summoned by some little girl. Yet impressed at the same time. Even more impressed when fluent ghoulish falls from her lips.

Ruth makes a deal with Kiln. They teach her about the pit and offer their friendship, while they get free roam of the woods and food, as long as they stay hidden. This exchange goes on for years until a young persistent cardinal follows Ruth to her meeting place with Kiln.

Kiln notices the unknown scent and grabs the cardinal. Unfortunately Ruth has a choice to make. Either kill the cardinal and risk a search party or strike a deal with them. Unfortunately that plan bites her in the ass regardless and the Cardinal squeals about Kiln.

This unfortunately leads to the higher clergy getting involved. Much to her father’s dismay and growing hatred for Nihil. They are not happy.

Luckily Nihil isn’t the one to get involved. It’s Imperator. Now imperator is far from angry, no actually beaming about Ruth. A future plan at work. One that has dark future consequences.

Imperator offers Ruth a position at the Emeritus church( the high satanic clergy) as her pupil, her right hand. Being a young adult now with really no ties to her own church, she decided to take it. Sealing a fate unknown to her.

This is where I plan to start my story( I haven’t started yet but I’m trying ok!) my goal with her story is to make a parallel with Copias. Kinda of like two sides of the same coin. I just haven’t written it yet because tbh I’m nervous how some will react on how I portray the papas.
