white dust descends from grey clouds hovering above coating streets until pavement is no longer visible , sidewalks empty with lamp posts flickering on as train the femme locates herself on passes by in a flash . was never delighted to feel frigid weather nip at milky skin , wasnt until she met them that feelings for season had transformed and she’d begin to harbor a sense of fondness for such sights . it was time of year pair would tangle one another in bed sheets in weak attempt to search for warmth… bodies pressed against each other with hushed dialogue of a christmas movie playing in background . she once took a liking to it because of them , though such emotion dwindling due to her departure from partner , pit of nothingness consuming her at sight of snowflakes that rush by . cranium is resting against glass in nearly desolate train when cellphone begins to vibrate in palm of hers . doesnt need to lay behold of caller identification when she already knew who was dialing . “ you remembered . “ timbre audibly fatigued , route from campus to abode having such effect on ex - ballerina . despite time difference couple found themselves in , would always work diligently at scheduling in time for the other… was beginning to recognize that was no longer the case with the decrease in calls from supposed lover . “ will i hear from you again today or should i say my goodbye’s now ? “
