Whooo! I finished another chapter! I am currently in a challenge at @rainydaysfestsandmore, and because of it, I am determined to finish Ghost of You and Me, finish the last short/drabble for Turning Pages, and work more on Reluctant Love Story. I think there are only two more chapters to go after this! So happy to announce that chapter 55 of Ghost of You and Me is called Happy Christmas, inspired by the song by the same name by Hanson!

“Now, Daddy and I have something very important to tell you, but you can’t tell anyone else yet,” Hermione stated.

Rosella nodded, “Not even Dogfather?”

Hermione laughed, “Not even Dogfather.”

“We will tell him soon,” Harry stated.

“But for now,” Hermione said as she handed Rosella the shirt.

Across the front of the pink shirt were glittered silver letters reading: BIG SISTER

Rosella frowned as she slowly sounded the letters out.

“B…i….g,” she looked up, “Big?”

Hermione nodded.

“This one is big,” Rosella stated.

“Just do your best,” Hermione told her.

Rosella took a big breath, “S….i….s…t…e…r.” Her little tongue stuck out as she stared at it. “Sist…er.”

Her mouth suddenly fell open as she looked up at Hermione and Harry wide-eyed. Then back at the shirt. Her jaw opened, then closed, before opening again.

Harry reacted instantly, with a flick of his wand, he cast a silencing charm on the room just in time.

“AAAAHHHHHH!” Rosella screamed. “A BABY?!”

She jumped off the bed. “Big sister?” she asked, throwing herself into Hermione’s arms. “A baby?”

Hermione laughed through her tears, “Yes.”

Rosella bounced in place, “Please, please, please!”

Jumping on the bed, she hugged Harry, then started jumping on the bed. “Santa brought me what I wanted!”

Hermione stared at her, “You didn’t ask Santa for a baby!”

Rosella looked at her, “Yes, I did.”

“You asked for a baby dragon,” Hermione told her, “I saw the letter before I sent it to him.”

“It was in my letter. The one I gave him at the mall with Grammy and Grampy,” Rosella told her.

Harry snorted.

“SANTA IS AWESOME!” Rosella yelled as she continued jumping.

Walking into the kitchen, she poured another mug of coffee for herself and added some milk. Heading upstairs, she walked into her office, and her planner caught her eye as she sat down. Taking a sip of her coffee, her eyes landed on the notes she had made earlier in the week, and then froze as she saw START OF PERIOD.

Hermione counted backward. Three times for good measure, still saying the same thing. She was six days late.

Setting her mug down, she bit her lip. At first, she thought it was just all the stress she was under. Closing her planner, she stared at the calendar on the wall, then stood up. Walking into their bedroom, she opened the linen cabinet and reached toward the back of the shelf.

Buried behind the extra towels was a small box, and Hermione pulled it out. Only three pregnancy tests remained.

Months ago, shortly after she and Harry had gotten back together, she’d purchased a four-pack while shopping at Tesco. She’d been late then, too. Only by one day. After taking the test, she started her cycle hours later, so the remaining tests had been shoved behind the towels.

Chapter Summary: Sirius graduates from specialized rehabilitation and, with Hermione’s gentle prodding, starts walking with a walker. With that step in his recovery, he can now come home. He grapples with what home means after all these years. Charlie ‘Thirst Trap’ Weasley does it again, and Harry and Hermione make plans for the future.

Hermione started sobbing as soon as the phone call ended. Sitting on the kitchen floor, the milk was slowly leaking, and an apple had rolled under the counter.

The feeling in her fingers was leaving her again, as her hands trembled as she reached for her phone. Her brain was in turmoil. There was only one person that she wanted to hear from. Robotically, her fingers called Harry.

“Hey, Hermione,” Harry answered.

She closed her eyes. “Hi. Have you talked to my mum and dad lately?”

“I just dropped Jase off there for a sleepover tonight. Why?” Harry asked.

Hermione pressed her hand to her face. “It’s Dad, his cancer is back.”

“Fuck, how bad?” Harry asked.

“Stage three,” Hermione stated, “It’s bad, Harry.”

“Okay… okay, we’ll figure this out, Hermione,” Harry told her. “Did they give you details?”

“Tomorrow, they find out more information…” she swallowed hard, “I just… I can’t. I can’t be here while they are going through this.”

“You won’t be,” Harry said, “I’ll make some calls, do some research. Sell the house, the car, you already know how to pack up the house. I’ll come down there and-”

“No,” Hermione gasped out. “You have to finish the term. I’m calling a realtor first thing after getting off from you. Shite, my boss. I’m quitting and coming home.”

So I used my vacation to relax, reset, and honestly... just write. All plans I had ended up being canceled by the weather and other reasons, so I just sat and relaxed and wrote. Back to the grind of summer camp next week, so I have been using the time I have available.

So happy to announce that I was able to write a second chapter of a Reluctant Love Story. Chapter two will be named after the song by Maren Morris called "this is how a woman leaves".

“Congratulations then,” Hermione swallowed, “What time is the Portkey?”

“In five minutes,” Kingsley told her.

Hermione’s stomach fluttered as she turned to Harry and Ron, “I guess this is goodbye.”

“For now,” Harry corrected.

Ron stepped forward first and hugged her, “Write, when you can.”

Hermione laughed, “Only if you answer. I’ll send it through the post.”

“Oh, mum sent letters to the Dursleys. That won’t be too difficult,” Ron stated, “It can’t be much more stamp things to get to Australia.”

Harry snorted, “She put way too many stamps on it to get to Surrey, much less Australia.”

Harry looked at her as she stepped back from Ron, and for a moment, neither of them moved. Harry bit his lip before stepping forward to hug her.

Hermione stared at him, “What are you looking for, Charlie?”

Charlie shrugged, “I was just wondering if your friend was over.”

Hermione crossed her arms over her chest, “MacKenzie? Charlie, you are gay. Correct me if I am wrong, but don’t give her the wrong idea.”

“I am gay, obviously,” Charlie told her, rolling his eyes, “That hasn’t changed. Her daughter is fascinated by dragons, and I wanted to share something with her that Michel and I just decided.”

Hermione shook her head, still slightly suspicious. “It’s not like she lives here. In fact, now that she has to get a new job, she is rarely here.”

Charlie frowned, “Is her husband still fighting the child support?”

Hermione froze, “How do YOU know about that?” Hermione asked suspiciously.

“She mentioned it last time I saw her,” Charlie said as Harry walked into the room, wiping his face with his shirt after coming inside from yard work. Charlie let out a low whistle. “Damn, Harry.”

Hermione snorted as Harry placed his shirt over his chest.

Charlie looked at her, grinning, “You are a lucky woman, Hermione.”

Hermione winked at him, “Don’t I know it.”

“Why is Charlie here?” Harry asked, glancing between them.

“Don’t worry, I’m leaving. See you guys at lunch,” Charlie said as he left the way he came.

Chapter Summary: On Hermione’s birthday, Harry goes all out on the birthday celebration, leading to a life-changing decision. Hermione’s parents host an engagement party, blending her Muggle background with her magical side. Hey! Did you know dragon keeper princesses love sugar? But beware of giving them too much!

Full steam ahead to the end. With that being said, Ghost of You and Me will probably end at chapter 56, maybe 57 if it goes the way I think it will. But chapter 54 is titled I Do inspired by 98* song of the same name. Here is a preview, enjoy!

Sliding their key into the door, it beeped, and Harry threw their suitcase into the room before picking her up again.

As soon as they cleared the door, Harry kicked it shut behind them before gently setting her down on the mattress. Hermione stretched out in her best impression of Crookshanks, grinning as she brought a leg up. “You know what’s amazing about this dress?”

Harry was already unbuttoning his shirt. “What?”

Hermione pushed up on her feet and hiked up her silk skirt to her waist, revealing her smooth thighs beneath the lacy outer layer. “The silk lining makes it easy to pull up around my hips. Come here, Daddy, and see if I also have silk knickers.”

Harry groaned, his trousers already visibly tenting as he unfastened his belt. “I get to make love to you on our wedding night with your dress still on? Fuck, Hermione.”

Hermione grinned, biting her lip as she watched him kick off his shoes, then his trousers and boxers in one swift motion. He crawled up the bed like a lion searching for his prey, “Hi, husband.”

Harry gazed down at her, “Hello, wife.” With a quick kiss, he dropped lower, his breath hot against her stomach. “Now, baby, this is daddy. I want you to close your tiny little ears and just go to sleep and ignore everything I’m about to do to your Mumma for the next five minutes.”

I am happy to say that you are all getting an exclusive preview, straight out of the...document. I am happy to be writing yet another fic for @harmony-out-of-the-ordinary 2026. I just finished the first chapter. This one is going to be different than my other stories. Not as angsty, Hermione doesn't choose Harry or pine for him right away. Anyway, I thought I'd share a short scene from the first chapter that I titled: Good Friends, inspired by the song by the same name by Maren Morris. If you haven't figured out... my brain works in song. I listen to music while writing, and every once in a while, one inspires a scene or the direction, so I use that one as the title.

He didn’t look away from the fire. “In the Forest of Dean, when you wondered if we could just stay.” He took a breath, “And just grow old there within the trees and forget it all.”

Hermione swallowed. “Harry…”

Harry looked at her, “I’m not saying it because of Ginny. I’m saying it because…” he paused for a moment, as if searching for words, “For two whole weeks, everything stopped. The damn prophecy didn’t matter. The order wasn’t a care. There were no expectations other than survival and keeping each other warm.”

Hermione smiled, “You nearly set my socks on fire trying to dry them.”

Harry gave her a brief smile before it fell. “I don’t think I felt numb in those two weeks.” He closed his eyes, “I just… felt.”

Hermione looked at him sadly, “You don’t feel that with Ginny?”

Harry looked at her, “I love Ginny, but… something about our time in that tent, Hermione. Maybe because we were just learning each other’s bod-”

“SHHHH!” Hermione hushed him, looking around the library, “Can you say that any louder? I thought we were never going to talk about it again. We decided it was just… a thing to move on from.”

“I know.”

“Together, we did.”

Harry sighed, “It slipped.”

Hermione lowered her voice, “I don’t want Ron to find out.”

Harry nodded, “I know.”

FINALLY! The wedding chapter is written and finished! It, by no surprise, took a life of its own, so it ended up being an entire chapter by itself. So without further ado, chapter 52 is named after Marry Me by Martina McBride and Pat Monahan!

The golden sunset illuminated the dust particles floating lazily through the golden evening light as Harry looked around.

Hermione turned to face him, “Do the test.”

Harry looked at her, surprised, “The test?”

She nodded, “I nearly got sick earlier smelling fish, just like when we were on the hunt. I nearly got sick apparating here, and if you remember…”

“They’re both things that happened when you were pregnant, and we didn’t know it,” Harry breathed.

Hermione took his hand, “What if those tests were bad? They were kind of on clearance.”

Harry laughed, “You bought pregnancy tests on clearance?!”

“Why pay too much to just throw them away? Plus, it was a good deal,” Hermione said with a grin as she took his hand and rested it on her stomach. “Do the test.”

“Panda Bear, Panda Bear, What do you see? I see a bald eagle soaring by me,” Hermione read as she turned the page, “Look at that beautiful bald eagle, Jase. They are the bird of the United States of America. Bald eagle, bald eagle, what do you see? I see a water buffalo charging by me.” She turned the page, “That doesn’t look like a happy water buffalo. What do you think?” Hermione asked, looking down at him.

His little hand untangled from her hair and hit the page.

“I think he looks like an unhappy buffalo, too,” Hermione told him as she kissed the top of his head.

Hermione looked up at the sound of footsteps and saw Harry pause in the doorway when he saw them. “Hey, Daddy, we were just reading a book. He woke up and wasn’t very happy about it.”

“I’m so sorry,” Harry said, stepping into the room, “I thought he’d sleep longer, but it sounds about right lately. He wasn’t too difficult to calm down, was he?”

Hermione shook her head as she rested her head against James’s head. “We were absolutely fine. Just needed a minute and we came down to read.”

Harry knelt in front of them, and James looked up at him, “Hey buddy, do you have your Aunt Mi?”

James laid his head back against her, then hit the book.

“Well, all means, I’m not one to interrupt story time,” Harry grinned, looking up at Hermione, “I’ll go put the food away and get dinner set up.”

Hermione nodded, “We’ll join you after our book.”

Harry kissed the top of James’s head, then left the room.

Hermione swallowed hard and looked down at James, “Should we start this every night with our phone calls? Daddy, call me when you go to bed? What do you think?”

Well, good news and... more good news?! I have finished another chapter! Also, more good news, I need my head examined if I thought the wedding would remain as half a chapter in my timeline. So, more than likely, Ghost will be going another chapter longer. So chapter 52 is finished and is named after Hanson's song, Lost Without You. Enjoy the short preview!

“Ron!” Harry yelled, making Ron turn away from one of his great aunts, “We have a child-free night, we are heading home.”

Hermione shook her head, “No, we are staying.”

Ron grinned as he leaned over to them, “Go in the house, this is the one time I am giving you permission to go into my old room. Just make sure you lock and silence the door. There is a ward to go beyond the bathroom. Just say please, and it will let you pass.”

Harry grabbed Ron and kissed his forehead, “You are such a good friend. Come on, Hermione.”

Hermione giggled as they rushed toward the house and Harry led her up the stairs. When they hit the ward, Harry whispered, “Please,” and it allowed them past. The landing for Ron’s floor was dimly lit as Harry shoved the door open.

With a quick locking and silencing spell, Hermione looked at Ron’s bed, “Not on the bed. I’m sorry that is too weird, plus it’s revolting orange.”
