          “Jesus Christ!” The words slipped through her lips animatedly as her voice echoed throughout the deserted hallway, hand tugging at the door handle of her apartment. Laurel had been attempting to get inside for the past ten minutes, inserting the key and yanking it out almost five or six times, but to no avail. This wasn’t the first time she had been locked out, and from the looks of concerned passerby’s, they were beginning to get tired of it too. “This is my apartment, I’m not trying to break in—” she spoke abruptly, annoyance evident on her face as she paused to look at the stranger beside her, not wanting an audience for the current ordeal.

               INITIALLY, RIZZO INTENDED FOR her visit to be quick. She would walk into the building, get to the person who was getting her financial matters in order, pick up the papers and be right out. However, she couldn’t help but stop in her step when she saw a brunette trying to get into one of the apartments. Hers, or so she said. “So.. If I were to, I don’t know, give you this,” she started, taking a bobby pin out of her hair before holding it out for the other to take, “I wouldn’t be breaking the law, right? Or at least be an accomplice? To burglary instead of murder, I guess the former’s better than the latter. Have you ever tried to go full police officer on that door?” Of course, at this point she was just trying to make conversation in order to keep it light-hearted, as she didn’t see the need to add onto the obvious annoyance that was already there.
