Little Things

It felt like I was drowning, gasping for oxygen as my lungs caved in deeper than before. I wasn’t happy, but I wasn’t sad either. Slowly treading through the water as the waves crashed against my body pulling me under. Then I met you. All of a sudden it wasn’t that hard to breathe, my lungs didn’t cave in as deep and the waves crashed against the shore instead. It was if I was walking on water- I mean that’s how you made me feel.Soon you realized teaching me how to swim was pointless because I always held onto you. When you left, the storm hit. As the waves pulled me under once again. My body numb and my mind blank. You caused the forceful storm to ruin the remains of myself. Maybe that’s why they name hurricanes after people because you destroyed me in more ways than one.
