Louis_Tomlinson: I don’t have a great grasp of time in general but the fact Walls was released 5 years is crazy to me!

I remember release day vividly, everything still felt so speculative back then, I had no idea what to expect. I feel really proud of the record looking back!

Thank you to every single person that has supported Walls and continues to do so. Releasing that record enabled so many things that I never thought would be possible on my own. Feel like we’ve come along way since then.

There are store bought DNA kits for peace of mind. But they're not as reliable. They can allow contamination.

If you want an official DNA test done that can be used in legal matters, such as child support disputes, paternity disputes. You need to use a court accredited laboratory.

The mother of the child holds the right to refuse to have a DNA test. Theoretically the supposed father could buy those store bought kits, but they would have no use in a court of law. They wouldn't be accepted as evidence.

He would have to go to the courts and file a motion to contest paternity. That could take who knows how long for the courts to go through all that paperwork.

The mother again holds the right to refuse a DNA. The courts decide how they view that. They can legally order a DNA test to be done.

In that case, they will only accept DNA testing done by court accredited labs. From my research, the DNA is taken by approved trained personnel. The people having their DNA taken have to bring along their picture IDs and allow their photos to be taken at the appointment. The samples are sealed then transported by the approved personnel to the labs where they do the testing. It's all very official. They results come back anywhere from 24 hours to 3 months. 3 months seems rare but I have seen that number when researching this.

That is how it needs to be done in order for it to be allowed in court. In most cases, the results are then sent to the courts. Not always the parents. I researched the UK and it seems the results go to the courts and they take it upon themselves to inform the people involved.

Which isn't a stretch to believe the court could also order a gag order, especially if the people involved were famous.
