I could go off on a tangent about how in our current zeitgeist there's clearly an untapped market for a zombie film predicated on the liminality of the zombie apocalypse visibly being underway but not yet all-encompassing- streets emptier than they should be but not empty, a commute to work that includes fewer and fewer people, infrastructure shuddering and grinding to a halt piecemeal rather than disintegrating in a single moment of over the top catharsis, an apocalypse enabled less by the raw danger posed by the zombies and more by the fact that everyone remotely in charge of coordinating an effective response to the problem is either completely asleep at the wheel or actively exploiting the disruption to their own selfish, petty ends. At which point a half-sapient observer would notice that I'm literally just describing the front half of Dawn of the Dead before the protagonists move into the shopping mall. Because that's what that movie was about. Because this is not new, and this feeling that we're sleepwalking into the inferno is not new

No but for real. Your brain is one of the most advanced machines known to exist. It's a computer capable of running a sapient intelligence on - and I cannot stress this enough - 25 watts of broccoli and stew. What the fuck.

It's a cool fact it just makes me uncomfortable

so an average toaster runs at about 1200 watts, say it takes 5 min to toast bread thats 0.1Kwh. itd take 4 hours of brain power to toast it
