Based on the blue insularis pit viper. Didn't have a good pair of brown buttons so I went with "gray" (pale blue)!

Jayfeather - blue spotted tabby with low white spotting, shorthair. He has a somewhat longer muzzle than most cats. While I did draw him earlier with cloudy (?) eyes, I think healthy-looking eyes are actually the more canon version (despite being described as "blind" repeatedly).

Lionblaze - black sunshine, classic tabby. Longhaired with amber eyes. How accurate is the pelt colour? Who am I to judge. Could he just be red? Maybe. He probably is! But this is cool.

I've been drawing cats for quite a while now, so I guess my "main" art style for them is the result of many things. Some art tips someone reposted online, looking at pictures of cats (and actual live cats, too) and scribbling over them, seeing what feels right... I guess in that way tracing might be something I should actually go back to more often, try to understand cat anatomy better and be more accurate with posing (it's easy to just... stop trying to learn more, after all). I think my hopefully-realistic pelt designs may stem from the same thing - drawn references (and some written descriptions) combined with looking at photos and real cats to see how much cats' coats can vary.

But I doodle, too! Because sometimes you just don't want to fix and fix things, just draw. And also - it's kinda cute.

It is her, Leafstar!

Chocolate tortoiseshell, smoke (with mackerel ghost markings), low white spotting. She has amber eyes and short fur.

I think she might not have canon white spotting right now - a bunch of her most recent official art gives her a white muzzle, but it could be a tabby thing. Her "SkyClan and the Stranger" design seems to have really drilled into my head that deep brown and white design, though ;)

I do like the idea of Moonpaw/MoonXYZ and ThunderClan's medics being friends, and Alder and Jay supporting her. It's cute. Don't mind the "starting a country" part.

Also Birchfeather's (brown tabby) "M" mark makes him look kinda mad but he's not ;)

I'm not sure Tawnypelt's gonna make it to the end of the last book tbh. Squirrelstar - maybe? But if she doesn't, I wonder if we'll get someone else instead of Ivystar... I also like the idea of Starlingpaw & Moonpaw becoming friends eventually!

Pebbleshine - fawn she-cat with the salmiak pattern of white spotting. Green-eyed, shorthair. Her tail is longer than usual and kinda thick.
